Breasts/nipples in a hub

I've read no nudity or profane content, but I'm doing a hub related to breasts in a very tactful, tasteful way, not taking from Ms. Snow, either!  (Saw the sagging man breast post "stuff").  I would like to put in some pics of just breasts, possibly art, and one side shot of a nipple with a baby.  This is not a sexually exploitive hub.

Any feedback - just do it and see what happens?

    Thanks a bunch!
    RR

The very idea is absolutely disgusting, there is no way breasts can be shown in a tactful, tasty way and if you show just a nipple with a baby you are asking for it from the religious and deserve to burn in hell you worm, people in the US can't stand the thought of all those nipplelets hanging around and disturbing the sanctity of the good and the pure and are all praying for your everlasting soul.  One must never, never equate nipplelets with tots.  Go and sin no more my son. Above all, never let thy left hand know what thy right hand is doing ,Careful that the breast doth not sway your way and smite you in your eye, let us go and speak no more of this.  You have broached a tricky, tenuous, and troubling thing.  Profane my son?  Only the ones raking in the coins are allowed to do that. I didn't sign for adsense so they put their ads in anyway. Aaah, the future, ain't it grand?

As for me - it is perfectly OK. But there are other people here, who think about those things differently sad

I would wait for HP staff response - if you want to be sure before you go smile

I'm sure, Misha, that it is OK with you... wink  Since I have a unique perspective that breasts are sensual and so much more, I don't think it's offensive, but I won't go into all of that here, I'll save it for the article...

Okay, I'll wait for the staff...

      Thanks!

I think that if google will remove their ads because of the image, it will not be OK.

Just a guess on my part though.

As far as I'm concerned, fire away big_smile

Good thought, didn't even think of that (google's take).  Ok, still awaiting staff response... I've got a good one brewing here smile

Hi, I write a lot about this stuff. It is against Google's TOS to include the nipple in any picture, however, cleavage is okay, as long as it is not what is deemed to be an 'obscene' close up.

I'd say that 'just breasts' would violate the TOS as well.

If it helps, here's an extract from an email discussion I had with a Google Rep on the subject:

AdSense publishers are not permitted to
place Google ads on pages with adult or mature content. This includes any
material that is not appropriate for all audiences.
            While this obviously
includes full nudity or sexual activity, it may also include textually
explicit sexual content, image or video content containing lewd or
provocative poses, strategically covered nudity, see-through or sheer
clothing, and close-ups of anatomy that would be inappropriate if shown
            nude.

That's the kicker here, Mark.  It's perfectly legal to expose one's nipple and breast while feeding.  And that is the jest of my article in some ways - the whole reality of a woman's breasts - I'll get into that in the writing.  So anyhow, I'm not selling the article as something sexual - it's to relate and recognize the total beauty and function of the breast.  So I don't feel like I'd be violating policy.  I think I may try it and see what happens...

Thank you all so far for the feedback - it is very helpful!

According to the above statement, there are a LOT of hubs that HubPages is allowing which violate those conditions.

Okay, what do you think if I impose a shape over the nipple, maybe a heart?  So the nipples would be covered with a sort of pasty?  How would that work?

I'm telling you - pictures of artificial bottle nipples and pacifiers are everywhere - for goodness sake they are like dildos really - a sub for the real thing!  Okay, I'll get off my soap box now smile

        Thanks,

Google's policies are a bit hard to follow in general, as they have Adsense ads appearing for things that I wouldn't consider to be appropriate for "all audiences" anyway. When they say this, I assume what they are really saying is that the content is kid safe, although, lets face it, there are plenty of non sexual things that kids dont need to be exposed to either.

The Internet isn't suitable for unsupervised children anymore than letting them run around on their own in the center of a city would be...  odd policies aside however, I have a hub here on nipple slips, which has little faces over the nipples, and there still aren't any google ads on it... so there you go....

I think Google deems nipples to be more offensive than breasts... personally I think this is madness, and borders on being woman hating.. (after all, you can show a man's nipples to your heart's content), but them is the rules of the Google Gods.

HubPages "Help" Page says this about content you aren't sure about:

"If you are unsure if your hub meets our policies, we will be far more sympathetic if you contact us for clarification before publishing the hub."

I suggest you email the team about it.

You Americans do have some strange ideas about what is OK.

I remember a women being asked to leave a coffee shop once because she was breast feeding her baby - insane. I left the shop in disgust and never went back.

I completely agree.  Since when did a nipple feeding a baby become sexual?  People are dumb.  Idiot.  As a woman with breasts, I'm offended by this kind of thing.  If it were a dude's nipple, it would be no problem.

Agreed. Egyptian women often went topless, as do some tribeswomen in Africa to this day. How ironic that the 'land of the free' should be morally thousands of years behind people who don't even have electricity, when it comes to issues regarding the bodies of women.

Don't get me started on the way that some pharmacists there are allowed to deny birth control to women either.

These are Google's rules, that we've adopted so we don't run afoul of theirs and put any of our AdSense accounts in jeopardy.

Any of our personal rules notwithstanding, nipples are not allowed according to this policy.

What about a nipple with a heart over it and baby with open mouth next to it?  Or sculpted breasts with hearts over the nipples?

I had the same problem - I did a hub about the best naturist beaches in the south of France. But couldn't show any naked people LOL All the ads disappeared. So I did this:

Do you really have a soapbox shaped like a dildo or was it the other way around?  Maybe I read wrong.  Give it long enough and some company will invent a nipple remover and then some data to suggest that nipples cause cancer and should be removed.  It is a strange society that forgets that nipples are for breastfeeding a baby that came From sex. If they outlawed everything that remotely reminded me of sex on a woman we would have a country fill of Toenails and nostrils walking around.

LOL - you read in a way I didn't really mean it, but it sure came out funny, didn't it? It's nice to hear that there are nipple respecting people out there... big_smile

When you check out my hub you'll see that I just used some cleavage photos for the most part, which of course draws a reader in and makes the Point!  http://hubpages.com/hub/Breasts-of-a-Mother

I wanted to use some beautiful photos of breasts in their totality, Google says no.  No problem.  I still wrote the article and it was very good, photos of nipples or not!

    More nipples ...

It is crazy that a US view of morality is forced on the rest of us - I'm all for keeping porn on the sidelines but a woman's breast or a nipple is inoffensive.  You see the same problem on U-tube - loads of tacky titillation, girls in revealing clothes but no nipples.

I think the European view of nudity is much healthier - even in Bournemouth in the UK (very conservative seaside resort) you don't have to look far to see exposed breasts by the pier.  Its not dirty!  Its nice.

I accept that Google makes the rules not HubPages but Google should accept a more cosmopolitan view - Decent German and French Magazines routinely feature naked women in ads for hair products, bathrooms etc.

The reason Google has these rules is that a substantial portion of their advertisers (where almost all their revenue comes from) don't want their ads appearing alongside of potentially offensive content.  It's just business.  Many of their other services are pretty open in regards to what you can do ...

      1. solarcaptain profile image59
solarcaptainposted 17 years agoin reply to this

And we all know the great morals and ideals of business, right?  Personally, I find the constant din  of the censors offensive and downright rude at times. Like most monolithic bureaucracies,
content is tromped in favor of stuff  that fits a particular mold so that eventually, it all looks the same. No way?  Look at television. Look at the schools. Kids still learn about sex on their bathroom walls.

I find profanity very offensive but there are rare times when it absolutely needs to be expressed, in good taste of course---

Anyone  may be bumped from a site without hearing, or without cause. No appeal. No answer to what is the crime so that others might learn a lesson.  The answer may be because they simply don't like you.

Hitler wasn't such a bad guy, after all. He gave the people the "peoples car", the VW and built the autobahns to drive them on, So he had to kill a few people....

What big business has forgotten it is the thousands of little guys that make up the internet.
They need the users but won't admit that it is anything but their own genius that makes it all possible.

Business now pushes the envelope on profit and only profit. The customer is an afterthought, a kind of inconvenient blip that stands in the way of "their profits." Feel like you are being bled dry by the bank's new and more expensive charges?  Can't get service at ATT without waiting a half hour?  Store give you a bad time when you return a defective item?  It's all part of the NEW business plan, straight out of the business schools.

Let's see what a protracted recession or downturn does to change some attitudes toward consumers. I don't wish for it but we may see it in our lifetime. So their is hope, after all.
Meanwhile, business might brush up on customer relations.

The entertaining thing as far as I'm concerned is that google are quite happy to accept and publish advertisements for porn and other adult related content. So their morality is limited to whether or not they make money from it big_smile

I read stacie's hub and found it very informative and tasteful. I can't help but wonder if that is such a problem, then why is stuff like this ok?
And take not to the right of all the other hubs this guy has
    http://hubpages.com/hub/Free-Penis-Enlargement-Exercise
I would much rather read something or view something that mother nature intended such as what Stacie has written than I had to be bombarded with hubs like these! Just my 2 cents worth.
