Congratulations, StitchTheDamned... progress is what motivates us. You asked: "How excited were you to hit 1,000 views?"
My reply: When you look back years later, you would be surprised why you were so happy to reach 1,000 views. These days, when I get $3.00 a day from Google AdSense for my own websites, I told my mum, "Only $3.00!". And my mum reminded me how happy I was when I received my first 10 cents from AdSense that I called her on the phone, just to tell her that!
I have a video on the Bersih rally, a rally calling for free and fair elections in Malaysia. I created the video when the call was made about a month prior to the event. It was a bummer. But just 3 days before the actual event, it was chalking more than 100,000 views a day and in the end, I chalked up more than 400,000 views just from this one video alone. Moral of the story: External events do make a big difference in our page views. It's sometimes a hit and miss.
"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values" is a 1974 philosophical novel which explores the Metaphysics of Quality. The first of Robert M. Pirsig's texts, the novel entered the Guinness Book of Records for being rejected by 121 publishers, more than any other bestselling book. The book sold 5 million copies worldwide... I will be happy, if I ever publish a book and sell just 5,000 copies, LOL.
