Bukisa Removes Revenue Sharing

   Just got an email announcing that Bukisa is discontinuing their monetisation programs.
   
   But that's ok:
   
   "Bukisa will be up and running for your content. Despite the fact that we won't be able to offer revenue share, you can still benefit from sharing your knowledge and promoting yourself as an expert in your field of business."
   
   Well I guess it'll just be a backlink farm now (not that you can easily insert backlinks there, anyway!)

   Yes, I got that email too.  No biggy for me, I only posted a handful of articles for backlinking to my Hubs.  One wonders how long it can last without revenue sharing.

      Yes, I took down the handful of good articles about a year ago as I didn't like their layout and how low quality their articles looked. If I'm sharing revenue, I like to have something on offer that trumps using my own sites!

      Not long I imagine, unless they're already priming the site for a new business venture.  When I saw the announcement here, I went to delete my handful of  articles off the site, as many other people must be doing as well. No payment, no content. I'm glad they didn't preempt  a mass deletion of articles by locking people out of their accounts or making it impossible to delete articles, though that would have been smarter on their part.  Evil, but smart.   It took me a dozen tries to remember my username and password, I hadn't been on the site in so long.

   Forget that noise.  I need money.   Redgage apparently closed their doors too although they aren't saying so;   it's just they have it up that they are still "transferring" all the info from their previous to their new site.    yeah right.

   They're ripping all of us off. We're providing content for nothing. If we want to get paid as writers we have to demand payment and not work for free.

      Ain't gonna happen.  There are too many amateurs who are willing to write "for the love of it" or for the ego trip of seeing their words in print.  Also, there are millions of people in third world countries for whom a few pennies per article is worth it.

         Unless you have another contender in mind, I do believe HubPages is the Google of the writers' content sites.

            Actually, I agree with paradigmsearch.  If HP goes down, it's over.  I know of no other site that tries so hard to correct problems and demand quality. Yes, they have made plenty of mistakes, but they know that now and are doing the best they can to set things straight.  However, if they do go under, I hope they will warn everybody so that we can remove our articles from the web.

               Maybe we should pray that Google buys out Hub Pages.
               For a gazillion trillion dollars, of course.
               Paul and team deserve to recoup on their investment.

               I agree. For all the problems we've had, HubPages still seems to be doing better than all the rest, with the possible exception of Squidoo.  If either of those gives up the ghost, then I think we can safely say the days of rev-sharing sites are over.

                  Squidoo is doing pretty badly right now, with lots of writers who used to earn big bucks there removing content, or having it locked.
                  
                  They've spent 6 months trying to clean the site up, but I'm not entirely confident they can survive.  I suspect that if they don't recover in time for Halloween and Christmas they might go under.    I'm now getting 10% of the traffic I used to get there in March.

                     Anyone who could not see the disaster coming was living in fantasy land. That obviously included the owners, which makes them one of the last groups of people you want trying to fix the problem.

                        Yep, I was very surprised it wasn't hit by Google sooner.  It might still recover, you never know, but I won't be surprised if it's not there next year (at least in its current form).   I think the chances of HP surviving are much higher.

      Think positive!
      BTW, although I am not Second Amendment freak, I would be in favor of a "Stand Your Ground" law that applies to great content sites like HP protecting itself from bullies and punk poser sites.

   Got a mail from the CEO of Bukisa. I only have half a dozen articles there. I would not bother to move them as I wrote it only for backlinks. The peanut payments I have enjoyed from Bukisa was a bonus.
