OK, OK I give in. The relentless proof and clear logical arguments have finally persuaded me that you are all doing it because you really love me and actually have the truth. All that nonsense about life happening without a divine intervention? Really - It is so complex it could not possibly have happened without an enormous intellect too vast for my puny brain to grasp. Science? Ptcha! what can they know. No one can really know anything - right?

    Where do I sign up?

          Acts 16

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.

That's not good.  While RA can put on a show, can weep, be baptized and cry out to the Lord every night at the bedside, it is very doubtful he can actually believe.

Is there another way that does not involve mind control beyond what man can do?

              No, I'm sorry.

Abram believed  the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. Gen 15:6

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- Jn 1:12

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth  in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jn 3:16

Rather sad, don't you think, that God would make so many millions of people that are incapable of joining Him in heaven?

A sadist perhaps, creating them just to watch them being tortured in Hell.  Or perhaps you are mistaken; other Christians have made a big point that actions must be correct, that belief is strictly secondary to how we behave.

I will forever be confused that the same person who claims that God is not real will take the time to say how very awful they think He is.

I don't think I've ever started a conversation about Freddy Kruger.

Good - it made you wonder why I would say that.  Now if I can just get you to think about the question I will be successful.  Because that's why it was asked; to get you to think instead of quote 2,000 old literature.

I don't understand. Are you saying your god will show me a magic trick like this?

            Awesome!

It's still early here.  Before noon.  Give it a few hours.  Although, now that you've promised me credit for your conversion, they may all just move on.  wink

Actually, I would.  But to sound legit, I have to say no.  I'm concerned that my mansion in Heaven wouldn't get as many extra rooms if I shared the credit with someone else. smile I'm all about square footage!

Don't worry about it so much, RA.

Too much time thinking about religion can drive you nuts. I'm living proof of that smile
