I haven't done any Hub Hopping in a while cause I just never have extra time, but today I decided to Hop.   I always used the "classic" Hub Hopper, but now I don't see it.  I'm not too good at fairly judging a Hub using the sliders that are provided.
Anyone know where the classic version went??

I just realized this too, Mary, and asked the same question.  I loved the classic hub hopper and I just cannot get used to this new one, which is not new, but I never liked it much, as it takes too much time.  Yes, it was discontinued.

I haven't read any comment so far with preference for the new hub hopper. It appears everyone preferred the old classic style. Maybe this is a case of trying to fix something that wasn't broken.

Never mind.  I used Classic Version this morning now it is gone.  Oh well, no more hub hopping.

Yes, it's been retired, unfortunately. http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/126970#post2679367

Thanks for that link, Jayne.  I read it.  I'll miss the old classic Hub Hopper.  I just don't think I want to try and judge a Hub using the tools that are given.  For one thing, it just takes way too long!!

It's just a forum post from about a week ago where Matthew Meyer confirms that it has been retired. But, yes, I agree with you--I also much prefer the way the classic hopper worked.

I will miss the old Hub Hopper!!  Though, I get a little irritated hopping hubs, because the quality I tend to find is rather sad. It seems like a lot of the hubs I hopped to were just kind of slapped together, and I could only stand so much of it.

Thanks for saying this. I thought it was just me being too critical. Some were just lists with excessive products. Others contained one huge paragraph with one picture and generalities. Only one out of about six seemed like a proper article with interesting detail.

I tried the Hub Hopper one time and didn't find it a rewarding experience, but that's just me. It just wasn't my cup of tea, I guess. (I like coffee)

I agree the classic hopper was much more user friendly. I guess we will get used to the new one eventually or just stop hopping?!

I don't like the fact that it takes so long and you can't skip over the ones that you have no interest in reading.

That's the problem I have--there are hubs for which I'm not qualified to evaluate, and I can no longer skip over them.

I found out, purely by accident, that if you refresh the page it offers you the chance to skip to the next hub.

I'm sad to hear they got rid of the Classic Hopper. If I didn't come on HP for a few days, I'd go on it first thing to see what hub topics were popular or interesting. The newer system for judging hubs was never user friendly, it made me feel like an English teacher. If the management wants help from us hopping hubs, they would be wise to bring back the old hopper.

I noticed my score as a commenter went down too. I used to make "7" type comments, and now I apparently only rate a "5" as a commenter. It's all pretty silly when you think of it. I try to make meaningful comments, not just "Great hub!"

Sexy pictures is now a topic? I just found one with five videos and no text whatsoever. ???

You should have reported it. It is that kind of junk that needs to be taken off the site.

You should have reported it. It is that kind of junk that needs to be taken off the site. I'm going to search those terms right now and I bet I find a bunch of them.

I read in Help that they retired the Hopper. But I don't think they removed all the Hopper links, so maybe some cleanup is needed.
