Has Google Adsense been worth it for hubbers?

   After many hubbers tried so hard to sign up with Google Adsense, has it made any difference for them in traffic, etc, once they finally got it?

      Having Adsense will make NO difference to your traffic, why should it?
      
      However, if you do not have an Adsense account, then you will be very lucky to earn even one cent from your Hubs.  ALL the HubPages' Earnings Programs require you to have an Adsense account as a prerequisite.

      AdSense can really bump up the earnings on an evergreen article that gets a lot of hits, already - although I have never noticed that it helps with traffic. For instance, my article on Warnings about Memory Foam Mattresses makes okay money (some months) off of Amazon topper sales.

   At the moment I do not have Adsense. I have been trying to decide if I will apply for it through my b*****r account and then use it here, or get my ten quality articles on HP and then apply. I know a lot of people who write elsewhere that have a lot of trouble with Adsense.

   Adsense is not something that helps get you traffic... It is for advertising so that you earn money from the traffic that you do get.
   
   Many people now struggle to get an account as you will need a reasonable amount of quality content (10 - 30 hubs) and in some countries you will have had to have that content up for 6 months before approval.
   
   Without adsense you cannot become part of the hubpages earning program either..
   
   Once you have it however it can provide you with a nice income if you have sufficient pages that attract traffic. But don't expect to get rich overnight...

   Adsense is the only way to really switch on earnings for Hubpages and is one of the most well known ways to monetise. However once you start writing on your own websites, there are a lot more targeted options available.

      Hi Mr. Hyde,  Congratulations on your success on hubpages.  It seems that you have done a lot of soul-searching before adhering to your current belief system; I admire that.
      
      I currently have 10 featured hubs, 2 of which received Editor's Choice awards, but I still get this message from Google Ads:
      
      "Insufficient content: To be approved for AdSense and show relevant ads on your site, your pages need to have enough text on them for our specialists to review and for our crawler to be able to determine what your pages are about."
      
      Do you have any suggestions as to what else I could do to get Google Ads to approve me?  Do I simply need to keep writing hubs for a while?

         The advice on how to get approved for Adsense is a bit outdated.  Adsense keeps on raising the bar!  Nowadays you need at least 20 Hubs.

            I got approved after only 6 weeks with 6 hubs. Maybe it's down to the length/content of the hub, or the traffic they generate.

   Hi LeanMan... at the moment I just use my amazon associates account on HP. I am here for my writing at the moment.
   
   Any money will build up down the track. I know a lot of newbies come here thinking that they are going to make their fortune in their first week.
   
   Fortunately, Australia is a Google friendly country

      I think I have made 80c (last time I checked) from AdSense in the time I have had three payouts from the HP Ad program, but you need to sign up for AdSense to enable the other.

      Agreed. Having an AdSense account is very useful for other endeavors, though. I slap those ads on everything I do to keep those pennies trickling in.

    Adsense does not cause traffic, it turns traffic into money.  In my case low four figures from Adsense and Hubads (which requires an Adsense account) combined.  So yes, worth it.

    I have tried for over a week to set up an account for AdSense.  I filled out the application completely but keep getting a message in red lettering stating Cannot connect to the server. Please check your Internet connection and try again.  I really would like to turn on the earning programs but will need to have the Adsense active.  I have an internet connection with all of my other google accounts.  Not able to submit my application to AdSense. 
    Please Advise. Thank You

       I'm not sure about the server message, but I see you have 12 hubs... it took me till I had 15 for everything to come together. I'm stumped on the server error part....

    I have Adsense and the HP program, so I make very little from Adsense and more from the HP program. I get an occasional click on Adsense here that pays okay, but it's rare. I've found Adsense to be more worthwhile from my blog than on Hubpages.

    I do not think that they sign up to AdSense for traffic. Do they? I personally signed up to "activate" the earning part of Hubpages. Sorry I do not understand the lingo. I do not find any increase of decrease in traffic. If you want to improve traffic the best way is to contribute to hubpages and its members by reading their hubs, leaving thoughtful comments, and actively participate in forums, etc. Depending on Google for traffic is not really reliable as it used to be since their algorithm unexpectedly changes, and I heard the latest update hit traffic quite hard on Hubpages and Squidoo.

       Adwords is where you pay for traffic (ie, to be featured in the ads).
       
       Adsense is where you show the ads (ie, advertise those who pay).
