I couldn't quite believe the recommended hubs shown at the bottom of one of my literature hubs - How to Shave Your Butt together with Sebaceous Pimples/Boil Removal again showing what is I think a sickly photo of a butt. Perhaps the joined up thinking is that once a reader has finished with a serious literature read what they most need is a clean shaven posterior! Or perhaps they already have one? What's the point?

You're not the only one. Have you seen this thread? http://hubpages.com/community/forum/134 … ended-hubs

I agree - it is very inappropriate, both of those hubs, not to mention very unattractive. Also rather sickening when eating lunch while reading and two ugly butts pop up.  Yuck!

I contacted the team about this issue.  They said that this is Google's doing, not theirs and that they have no control over it!

Then Google is an Ass, unsightly most of the time but something we can't live without?

I think the sebacious cyst photo is particularly off putting, even though the hub does have good info. It seems to be recommended under any health related hub. The butt on the other one is not as ugly,  and I guess the info would be useful if I wanted to shave my butt and didn't know how.

Chef, I have commented about them on the other thread that has been going for a couple of weeks. There is nothing really wrong with either hub, just that they are constantly showing as the recommended hubs everywhere and they are not a good advertisement for our writing. The titles and images are unattractive. I even reported them as offensive but nothing has been done to have them replaced from the recommended hubs. With all the advertising they get these must be the two most read articles on HubPages. I wish I could get one of my hubs highlighted there. Maybe I'll have to start writing about hairy cysty ashes and combine them in one hub...that will go viral.

I look forward to a poem about it.

Thanks for the tip calculus. I may write a poem titled "Cysto the Hairy Ass" about a donkey.

        So here it is:
I woke up this morning in a rut
looked at my lady sleeping and hot
Her gentle snoring tightened my gut
when I noticed it was coming from her butt
I gently rolled her on her back
to silence the sound of her butt crack
Then I noticed the pungent smell
that grabbed my face and rang my bell
Whatever she'd eaten the night before
found its way out through her back door
I racked my brain and found a cork
now she thinks I'm a perverted dork
        I am

Ha ha, I wasn't aware of the previous thread but now all is revealed. It seems that Google is responsible for the pus related hub. Never has one backside had so many click throughs or whatever the appropriate term is!

I have lost faith in Google because of those photos. I have had to cover up parts of art work from the great Masters of the past - I had ads taken off some hubs because HP told me "Google does not like certain body parts showing", so I spray painted those parts on all my Psyche and Eros paintings. LOL  I guess Google thinks the butt hubs are "kick arse"!

I agree Phyllis. I have had ads disabled on three of my hubs with images a lot less offensive, and I wish there was some sort of consistency here as I notice these offensive "recommended" hubs have ads enabled.

Me too, Jodah. There really should be some consistency. It seems it is HP who has an issue with the human body.

I have nothing against beauty of the body in fine arts - but, I see those butt hubs as an inappropriate way to show off someone's back side. I have not read the hubs, but I believe they could have been published without those pics.

The actual pic on the "How to Shave a Hairy Butt" hub is ok, because it is the rear end of a statue...it's the title I don't like showing everywhere, the cyst pic is just ugly.

OH! I thought that butt looked peculiar.  Yes, the other one is just ugly.

Yes, I have had the same hubs displayed underneath some of my food hubs!
Nothing like a nice cake recipe only to be greeted by that sight at the end.

The hubs do generate a lot of attention, don't they?

In retrospect, I feel I'm behind on this end.  I feel as though I've been butted to the rear in my topic selection.  If only I'd had the hindsight to search to the very bottom of possible keywords, my traffic may have been butter...I mean, better.

    There once was a cryptozoologist
who had on his butt a great cyst.
    He gave it a shave
    and asked his friend Dave
if there was any spot that he missed.

There once was a donkey called Cysto
Once belonged to the Count Monte Cristo,
For an ass he was hairy
      Which wasn't so scary,
But big cysty noses more so.

There once was a man named Wyatt
who went on the Military Diet.
        He lost is gut
and the cyst on his butt
so don't knock it till you try it.

I didn't see this tread until after I posted mine about the inappropriate google ads.  Glad to see others feel the same and that these aren't helping promote the articles.  I hope Hub Pages will take care of this asap.

Yes. Seems a bit two-faced for them to be so worried about spam in our sites, then put some awful spam in the ads.
