Different payment options in the future (affiliate program)

   I have been considering lately hitting the hubpages affiliates program pretty hard. It seems like it could be a GREAT source of income if you get several hundred affiliates and earn 10% from each one of them.
   
   the only thing that worries me is the fact that the only way to receive this income or at least the only way I know of, is through your adsense account.
   
   I was wondering if in the future their could be the option to accept payments via check or paypal so that in the horrible event that someone is banned from adsense their hard work doesn't go for nothing.

      The google affiliates program was stopped ages ago, so I wouldn't waste your time on it.

            That is where they bought out the DoubleClick affiliate network.  It's similar to the Amazon affiliate program, but it has several merchants like Target or Duncraft and you get paid for sales with those merchants.  Not quite what you are describing.

      I doubt that there will be future changes to the system. The way it is, HubPages Inc don't touch the money at all. It makes it a lot easier for them this way. If I were in their position I wouldn't be complicating things.
      
      And the 10% of ad impressions is your Adsense ID being used. So any earnings goes straight into your account.

      That's easier than it sounds. Personally I have a lot of sign-ups but you can't force them to write - and you certainly can't force them to write WELL!
      
      Remember you don't get a commission or a set amount, like some affiliate programs - you only get a percentage based on their Adsense earnings.  So if you're going to "hit it hard", you not only have to target good writers, you have to make sure they're motivated to write on HubPages.

   The money comes from AdSense, and Amazon and Ebay. Without them, there would be no payments.

   The way the affiliate program is set up makes sense - the same payment structure for affiliates as for publishers. Hub Pages doesn't control the money, they just direct different payment streams intelligently.

   What I like about the affiliates here (Amazon, eBay and Kontera) is that I can also have all of them on my personal web site.  The not only allows me to link and share traffic between the sites, the combined earnings make it much faster to get to those payout thresholds.
   
   I also get to run AdSense on Hubs and my site.
   
   Plus by having me, the user, registered to the programs, I get a lot more clear reporting and accounting.

   Do you mean like being paid no matter what ? similarly to some other sites.
   
   I kinda wondered about that myself ,like what happens if I leave before I earn a $100 ! what happens to all the accounts with a few dollars in them..

   well I just got thinking, if someone is banned from google adsense than they can't really participate in the "hubpages affiliate program" (NOT amazon,ebay). I just had the thought that maybe there would be some way to manage that like squidoo where if the person wanted hubpages would pay you the 10% of each persons revenue but via paypal or check or something.
   
   meaning if you can't use adsense but have or still are reffering people to hubpages, the money would first go to hubpages via adsense but than hubpages could just pay you.
   
   I realize now that that would make it super complicated for hubpages, but it might be the better option like I said for those who can't use adsense due to previous bans or not having a website to sign up with.

      Keep in mind that you're not getting 10% of a persons revenue.
      
      You are getting 10% of the ad impressions. The results may be similar, but the execution of it is not.

   my accounts are fine, I'm not banned on adsense and don't plan on being banned.
   
   
   I was just worried more on the fact that if I take the time to get several hundred/thousand referrals to sign up through my affiliate tracker code ( I am pretty sure I know a way I can ) that it wouldn't be worth nothing If I somehow got banned from adsense in the future do to being click bombed or something rediculous.
   
   
   I guess I'm just being paranoid haha.

      Cls, are you sure you know a way to get several hundred QUALITY referrals?  Looking at your own Hubs, I think you have a way to go before you learn what makes money on HubPages. Like I said before, there's no point recruiting people unless you can recruit the right kind of people - because you get nothing unless they actually earn ad revenue.
      
      So I suggest you give it some time, and be sure you understand what kind of recruit you need, before you launch your campaign.  Otherwise you may find you've recruited a whole stack of people who'll write non-performing Hubs, and you'll have wasted your time.

         thanks for all the responses. Darkside yea I realized that which is one reason it becomes much harder to do, and marisa thanks for the advise. Yea basically it comes down to a blog of mine I update frequently. Get quite a few uniques per day and it is about making money online. If I wrote a post on hubpages and cloaked my affiliate link so it just showed as http://www/hubpages.com I could probably get a decent amount of sign ups. Now as far as would they perform ? thats another story I don't know.
