   Why do women & girls love the color Pink?
   
   If it is Pink, my wife will buy it. She has Pink blouses, skirts, pantsuits, ear rings, bracelets, shoes, socks, cell phones, writing pads, purses, dog collars & leashes, printer paper, calculators, hair brushes, stationary, ink pens, belts, wrist watches, necklaces,..........

   It is such a pretty feminine colour, very girlie.  It was also the 'in' colour for last season.  There seems a lot of purple in style now, so maybe she'll start buying purple/lilac?

   It sounds like you have a very feminine wife.  Pink is a colour which represents femininity, it starts from when we're born, cute little pink outfits, and as we grow up, pink lipstick and high-heels. You can feel proud to have such a feminine woman in your life.

    I guess it's because pink is one of the least "aggressive" while at the same time being "colorful." I would like to see a test done on babies to see if they prefer a certain color based on their gender. Other wise it is perhaps the result of social conditioning.

    Have you seen lips, palm of newborn babies? It is soft, pink and attractive. Women like kids more than men, so they have some inclination towards pink color. Pink color is romantic too.

    Because unlike the harshness of red, or any other bold color, pink is soft. It reminds me of cotton candy. Light and fluffy, and girly. if your wife has a fair complexion, nothing goes with a pale womans skin tone like pink does, believe me, i should know! Pink is pretty, and wearing it, or having your purse or shoes pink makes you feel pretty. femanine.

    Pink is the softest color. It gives us a comfort of feelings. Our eyes get relieved by this color. Girls and women by nature are very soft. So this pink color is the really representation of their character. But it is also not true that pink is the favorite color among all women and girls. There are many who don’t prefer this color. This is true this pink is hit among the females.

    Society has made the color pink stand for femininity.  It starts at infancy.  We dress our little girls in pick dresses and pick bows.  We teach them that pink stands for girls and blue stands for boys...then we wonder why girls like pink.

    My best friend loves pink...pink shoes, pink toenail polish, pink wallet, pink clothes and even pink walls in her office with her pink rug and pink lamp.  It just makes her feel happy.  I guess its her feminine side coming out.  Its just her thing.  I know that I like wearing blue and green shirts.  It just makes me feel good!  We all feel powerful in some type of colors....just like Tiger Woods likes to wear red shirts on Sunday, Johnny Cash wore black, some women like pink!

    actually, I hate the color pink but I wear it because it is flattering to my complexion.  I have no idea why anyone would buy pink socks, etc.
    
    On the other hand, I like fuchsia...a deeper color of pink

    I think there may be 2 levels of explanation here. First, I think as human being’s we are designed to prefer certain colours generally because of the survival value that they represent to us. For example, the color green represents vegetation and blue water. These represent places to find food and to drink. Pink is a colour associated with healthy human bodies etc.
    
    Second, with a variety of colors to select from that are wired in as preferences, teaching and learning set in so that particular color preferences are learned and reinforced within a given cultural context. For instances, getting positive attention and other reinforcers are associated with displaying the color. Further, Pens and belts have their own natural and logical value, which is then paired with reinforced color preference.
