Looking At A Woman With Lust Is Committing Adultery. What Percentage Of Men Can Pass This?

But I Say To You That Everyone Who Looks At A Woman With Lust For Her Has Already Committed Adultery With Her In His Heart. (Matthew 5:28)

I don't agree. A man can admire another woman with lust, for example, not just women in the street, but also beautiful Celebrities, and they are not committing adultery. It's fine to look, so long as his lustful thoughts aren't taken any further when he's in a relationship.

I think the scriptures intention here is to show the difference between sex and intimacy.  Sex is a physical act.  Intimacy is the combination of several emotions and physical acts.
Basically its telling you that for married people;  lust=adultry of the heart.  sin is sin and one is not worse than the other.

Second part of the question: 100% of blind men can technically pass this test!

whats the sin that has been committed?  Using your eyes....I think not!  Your actions is all that counts.  Someone that looks, even  though they may lust cannot compare to one that looks, lust as well as acts.

Torturing yourself is masochism. Encouraging others to torture themselves is pretty unhealthy too. Have you ever thought of simply accepting your own humanity?

Looking and lusting are two different things.  Looking at a woman and thinking she's hot is one thing. Lust involves desire and want. I don't know very many wives who say "My husband can desire to be with another woman if he wants just so long as he doesn't do anything."  Absolutely not.  If a husband desires to be with another woman who is not his wife, his heart has become unfaithful.  I don't think he would say to his wife, "Honey, I really want to sleep with that other woman, but I would never do it."  That wouldn't be okay either. No wife would be content with a man who was constantly desiring other women.  Action or not, as far as that wife is concerned, he might as well be out there cheating, because clearly his desire is not for her.  This is what Jesus is addressing.  Looking is human.  Lusting is a choice.

Hookay...well well well what have we here...let us take a look at this...basically when this was written the traditions dictated that one must be married before sex...for many reasons...stoning...sexual diseases...etc.  Now any normal heterosexual male will admire a womans sexuality...it's inborn...to ensure procreation of the species...
and we all are attracted to womens sexual beauty...unless you are ah well ahh gay...in that case you would be looking at a man with lust...anyway...basically what he is getting at is that it is better that you are attracted to the person...the personality...'casuse when the sex is all over with...or starts to get boring...you'll start looking somewhere else...there are countless extremely attractive women out there with boring, superficial, undeveloped matierielistic personalities...trophy wives and their husbands are sick of them...and

None. That's why Jesus also said, "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone," when they brought the adulterous wife to him.

He knew that probably every man there, had looked at her with lust, yet here they all were ready to stone her.

Sure, blind men aren't looking at the girl across the room, but they have their own ways of lusting after strangers. Look at Ray Charles.

In Jesus' time, men were usually married by age 12 or 13, so they really were being unfaithful to their wives if they had sex with a new woman.

I take it to mean that looking at a woman with lust will lead to adultery. There is a doorway to everything, good or bad. Generally, when doing something, we start small but go big. That is the way with everything.

It is likely that looking at women with lust multiple times will lead to adultery. There is a similar verse in the Quran which goes "Don't go near adultery". What it means is that don't do anything which is likely to make you commit adultery.

Adultery is bad because it breaks up the family and therefore leads to disintegration of society. The man who realizes this will maybe pass looking at women.

A fine line between lusting and looking I guess, I think it's ok to appreciate the beauty though, I love to observe the whole picture and seeing the wholesome beauty is my pleasure ......

I am a Christian and what I find odd about this scripture is the fact that God gave us this scripture knowing in advance that no man would be able to look at a woman and not have lust in his heart from time to time so we are all guilty of this and it can't be avoided because of our human nature. It is a natural normal thing for a man to have lust in his heart for a woman he finds attractive whether he wanted to or not.

Looking a woman with lust is not the same as thinking sex to someone till you are satisfied. Just keep it to yourself because there are people who wants to be clean and as if near to the Lord. yet these people are much sinful but good in covering their lusty minds.
