Can God lie, or die? Did God have a beginning?

    Numbers 23:19 (American Standard Version)
19 God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?

    John 3:16 (American Standard Version)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

    Psalm 90:2 (American Standard Version)
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

I assume you are talking about the current God, but like all the other Gods that came before  they don't die they just fade into Myth and legend.  It's just that this one seems to be taking longer than most.

But if you are interested as to when man invent this God look no further than King Hezekiah circa 700BC.  He was the King who passed the law creating the one God and banning all others under pain of death.

The rest is just habit !

I realize you're a Jehovah's Witness, but I will answer your question based on the Bible, not the Watchtower.  Since the fall of Adam, all mankind is born into sin (because we are born in Adam).  Numbers 23:19 confirms that God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, was not born of Adam ~ therefore He had no sin, including lying, nor did He need to repent (Mat 1:18).

Yehowshuwa aka Yehoshua aka Yeshua (Jesus ~ YHVH saves) was predestined to be the Lamb of God from the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8).  Through Him, the Word of God, all things were created (John 1:3).  The Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).  While the flesh of God died on the cross, His Spirit has always been and never perished, nor will He.  YHVH raised Himself from the dead (John 2:19; Acts 2:24; Romans 8:11).

YHVH is the first and the last (Isaiah 44:6); Jesus is the first and the last (Rev 1:13-17).  He is one LORD.  Amen.

JD, you may have answered too quickly. This is not a quiz, to determine one's wits, but an exercise to help to overthrow "deeply entrenched things" i.e.  Neo-Platonic influenced fallacies from the 3rd century through the Dark Ages
    till now.
Know this that as John 17:3 shows, knowing JEHOVAH and His
Word, means eternal life. Also, those who worship God, MUST do so in TRUTH and with spirit. A spiritual life involves cultivating
the fruitage of God's holy spirit, as shown at Galatians 5:22,23.

Numbers 23:19, says God is NOT a MAN.

God CANNOT lie as shown at Hebrews 6:18 and Titus 1:2.

God SENT His Son, NOT Himself.John 3:16, John 8:42 etc.

The Word, as flesh, DIED. Acts 5:30; 1 Peter 1:3.

Jehovah, as regards His existence, has NO BEGINNING.Re 4:10

Christ, has an origin. Micah 5:2.

God is outside of time. He's the cause of cause and effect, but needs no cause. It seems illogical, but that's my opinion.

I really do not know. But I will try to keep it simple enough. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for the Lord is with me. For short. I think that means something like death. The Lord is there. Next I personally believing in a Sovereign God think that it would not be so wise to test him as many people have in the history of man. He did not lie to Adam and Eve about death. He did not lie to the those who built the Tower of Babel. And so on... Those who did test these and questioned him found great trouble in doing so. You could choose not to believe like so many. Time of Noah perhaps. They did not believe that he would flood the world. Not to be forgotten. Also like david said in Psalm 4 I believe of the bible. You had better not turn away to false Gods. Search your heart, what kind of God really is he? To tell you the truth, he would and will and is  Peace be with you.

Hey True Truthseeker, I just found your question. I found this questions in my heart early on in my walk with the Lord. Even when I heard answers, they just didn't help me.
But at some time the questions were solved or answered in me.
1.How could God lie, He has no one above Him to say He is wrong. Who us ? A lie is something God didn't speak, not a contridiction of terms
2.Die, or cease to exist. Everthing else would cease to be, since its all made of Him and held in place by Him. He didn't just make it and throw it out there to live on its own. He is the life of it.
3.A begining, this one used to haunt me. Who made God? was the question my mind pushed at my new faith. It was not until I started understanding time that this question weakened.
As said in an earlier answer He is not in time, We think in time and about time. He put us in time, not Himself. We also are eternal, just on earth we are subject to time. There is no begining and end with God.
