    I say theres 3 options

    1. nothing happens

    2. Something big happens like a war, but the world does not end

    3. The world comes to the end as we know it

    Skeptics will say 1.

    Believers say 3.

The others will say 2. and that's my thought.

Well I don't know about you but I remember the same question going around everywhere about 2000. Shoot Prince even got a number one hit off of it. So I say no. Could I be wrong? Yes. Does it really matter? Well I guess the best answer to this is simply that right at this very second someone's world has ended in fact probably thousands of peoples has. And it will for all of us one day some know it's coming others have no clue. But none could stop it or even help it by worrying over it. But the real question I guess is what will happen if it does?

No doubt this damn silly question will be asked more and more over the coming weeks and months and I dread the time when the mass media takes it up and whip up into mass hysteria and panic.

Trust me, Nothing is going to happen in 2012 unless some stupid person or group decides to make it into a prophesy.

Is that what we need right now ?  Terrorist of the World don’t need any help coming up with ideas  for our destruction.

2012 is a number, nothing more nothing less, it isn’t even a real or accurate calculation for anything and as year it has meaning only for Christians....

I think something is on the horizon, but what this might be nobody knows. sure there are suggested idea's from scientist who claim the earth will be hit by a massive flare that will knock out all electronics and power grids across the planet therefor starting mass hysteria.

Then you have those who say the polar axes are going to flip turning the equator into a sub- zero climate and this sudden change would make for the biggest title wave in mans history.

There is something up however because with top scientist and world elite building bunkers all over the world that is costing them Billions suggest they do know something and are not telling the world about it.

But for it being the end of the world I doubt it because there will be people here when the rapture comes when our Lord God returns, And for that to happen there has to be people. I also don't mistake this as being the day of rapture for the Bible says that no man will no the day nor the hour for it shall come as a thief in the night. In other words if man knows it is coming then it is not true.

The earth probably will.  The question is, will the human race?  I don't think 2012 is any magic number.  We could disappear tomorrow, in 2012, 2050, or ???, or continue in some form (likely devolved) for millennia.

You don't have to be a religious wacko bible-thumper to come to that conclusion.

It is simply much ado about nothing. Of course, I do not know that emphatically so. But I'm fairly sure. It reminds me of the craziness that ensued just before the year 2000. People went nuts. People overreacted.

People also made a lot of money and built businesses out of it. Take, for example, how many electric generators sold. Water bottles. Canned goods. Camping equipment.

I am pondering how I may be able to capitalize on this little bit of silliness myself. After all, if it is to be the last meal, the last great ride, the last whatever, someone will spend their dough on it just to take full advantage of their last moments—

A fool and his money are soon parted comes to mind, friends.

When the clock strikes midnight on the 22nd of December, 2012 there will be a moment of silence...

And then throngs of widespread laughter.

When will this end? People thought the world was going to end when humans landed on the moon, when the year 2000 came around and now 2012! I don't think scientists have found anything that could cause Earth destruction right now. The only thing you can do is live and wait.
