I have to say, Google.  I tried Bing for a few days and found it to be way too annoying.

    1st Google
    2nd Bing

I have noticed that google is now also focusing on user interface and copy bing's concepts.

Google is my favourite, because of the clean, simple interface. I have the home page on Firefox set to Google.com, so I just have to click the Home button to start a new search.

I use Bing occasionally, if the Google results aren't finding what I need.

Google is what I use for simple searches.

But, if I am researching I use AltaVista mostly.

Then if I still dont find what I am looking for I will sift through Dogpile results.

I'd have to say Google. It's just too simple and I can even do it from my G1 phone. Simplicity is a good thing.

For relative privacy, www.startpage.com -- they do not track you like Google, BIng, etc.  Of course, big internet threats to privacy are your cable companies and ISPs.

I prefer google, because it's the standard by which others are measured.  I've flirted with others. . . . .but never really been satisfied with them.  Go Google!

Yes, igoogle might be good but it's closing on 2013. I am using www.yourls.com. For me it's the best as it is very simple and useful.
