Because we are animals at the base level.  As a male, we want to create as many offspring as possible because some will die due to sickness and circumstances, and the more children we have, the better our chances of our genetic material will be passed down.  Females only need one male because she will choose the strongest male available and stick with him because she knows that they will produce the strongest offspring.

I don't think you can blame it on men, our society has...is destroying marrage as a whole. And when i say marrage i don't just mean the institution i also mean the idea of one man and one woman for the rest of there lives. Our society views that life is short and you should live for today. And if this is true why would you want to stay tied down to one person, when in the end it doesn't matter. which is why you find it that men can't seem to be happy with just one woman...but in truth woman are the same. we are all a product of our culture.

I think man is polygamous by nature for this reason only a few men do not have attraction to more than one woman

I think your question should be "Why do (some) men and (some) women....etc
You really can't generalize either sex.

Anyone who has ever seen an episode of "Cheaters" or "The Maury Povich Show" can tell you there are women out there who are having sex with more than one man.

There are countless reasons why someone "needs" to be with more than one person. It can be something as simple as being too immature and not ready to settle down, the thrill of having variety, something is lacking in their primary relationship, feeling unloved, unappreciated, or an unbelievable opportunity to be with someone out of their league presented itself...etc

It's really a waste of time trying to figure out why the opposite sex or even a specific person does what she/he does. The only person you will ever have control over is you!
All you can do is try and find someone who wants what you want and then treat each other like gold!

To men and women have equally amount of partners so there shouldn't be such false judgement. The thing is if someone is not happy with any part of their relationship they have a need to find what they lack elsewhere.
