Do you agree with homework in schools?

I don't agree. The amout of time I spend doing homework, I could have learned all that the homework teaches and then some more. We all have different sytles of learning and mine is memorizing notes, and then typing essays about them. Doing meaningless homework about stuff I already know over and over again is just a waste of time

Homework is reinforcement of the work children learned during the day in their classrooms.

You sound bright as did my younger brother.  I was not as lucky as you two are and were.  Most children are not that lucky.  They need reinforcement of what they learned earlier.

Well, again, you sound very bright you may need to be in a higher grade or be placed in a class for gifted children.  Maybe you should be taking college classes, if not be in college?

They placed my younger brother in a class for gifted children when we were in grade school.

Good luck to you.  Your parents must be very proud of your academic achievements, because I am just proud that my son is reading on grade level.  LOL.

    Take Care,

    N.E.

You know what, I agree, but for many reasons other than the one you just listed.

Your first reason is very good, people have different learning styles and juggling homework rules can limit how you study/practice the material.

But I'll take this one step further. I don't believe in homework. I never did. And before you call me an extremist or just plain dumb, there are some well educated people who agree with me.

Children need the time to acquire other interests, talents, and abilities that we can't always find in school. School has it's purpose for children, but it's not the only learning vehicle. I feel homework should be removed completely. The biggest issue I find is a lot of teachers are not giving quality time/lessons during classes. I often found I had to do homework, whether assigned or not, because my teachers simply wasted time. Homework shouldn't be a substitute for an inept lesson.

I believe in a reasonable amount of relevant and worthwhile homework.

    hi

Homework must be considered to be a practice session. It helps us to revise on the teachings in the classroom. Home work helps you to understand the concept in a better manner when you repeatedly continue doing it. So I think there is nothing wrong if Homework is given in the school.
