   Karma is the positive or negative force one puts in motion that is in turn received on the wave of some equal and opposite force produced by the essence, force and energy one emits...  One's temperament, attitude and behavior creates, evolves and perfects one's karma...

   i would think you would not be able to know it, nor would you be able to manipulate it.  i believe if you knew it, at all times, or any time and had the power to manipulate it, it wouldn't be the same.  it would take away from the true meaning of karma.  it would remove the foundation of truth from it completely.  then people could just do bad then good and just make up for it, like a check book.....   it would be like kicking a dog then giving it a treat....  just completely wrong in all aspects.

   Karma is whatever actions you perform on others, at some point this will be returned to you.  It is thought to come back whether in this lifetime or the next (reincarnation).  The concept stems back from the ideas of mysticsm and evolved into far eastern belief system (Buddhism, Krishna, for example).
   
   These actions can stem from thought as well as actions and it aims to teach us our great lessons in life.  Karma can come from good deeds and bad deeds and the payback to the originator is returned x3.
   
   Consider the phrase: 'what goes around, comes around' is something that seems to be well known in cultures around the world.  This is about karma.

   In simple words, whatever we do is our Karma. Karma means our deeds that successively chase us in the cycle of birth and rebirth, or smasara according to the Buddhist philosophy. Thoughts on Karma is elaborated by Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religions.
   
   We cannot alter the ramifications of Karma of our past lives, but certainly can mend our life in another life-cycle.

   I believe karma is a spiritual act which serves to balance  aspects, results of "good and bad."  I put this in parenthesis because this concept can be comsidered relative; depending upon which discipline one adheres to/follows/believes in.  However, if we choose to accept that 'good and bad' exist then, karmic reality is the effort to achieve evening of deeds done and 'rewards' meted out.  Again, I believe the idea of rewards given for "good" behaviors vs "punishment" exacted upon "bad behaviors" subject to our interpretation of the idea of these labels.  Personally, I DO believe there is an ultimate good and a definite bad..therefore; my definition of karma is pretty simple; if you do unto others in a hurtful or damaging way; then, eventuallhy, you'll be "done unto" in an equally harsh way; dealt a "sentence" equal to the "bad" you perpetrated.  Or not!!!  LOL

   Karma is our relationship with everything esle. It describes and reveals our interactions with other people and our environment. Karma comes from the idea of oneness. Concepts like the human race or the biosphere. Karma emplys a connection and energy to everything else. So to each action there is an equal reaction as science would tell us. There is also an emplied consequence to each action. The way through actions is to be selfless and concerned with others then there isn't an hidden reason for our behavior which would bring with it consequences that the action itself wouldn't cause. Think of it like sunshine and rain both grow crops both fall on people without reguard to their deserving. The virtue of sunshine and rain is pure and undiscriminating.

   Spiritual humans are dynamic within all things. as long as they live they use this time to turn towards their creational abilities with all their force. They will never lose this drive. They know the Creation embodies the true being. these people can earn huge spiritual rewards when they truly seek knowledge, truth, logic, wisdom, and love. There is no such thing as karma as it is usually defined. But the old saying"What goes around, comes around" is in certain respects correct.

   Yes, I agreed with shazwellyn that Karma is the return of our action.
   
   I always follow a basic rule in life.
   
   Do on others as what you expect others to do on you. Follow this simple rule and you will not be wrong in a long run.
   
   Every action we take will then be processed in your mind as what you expect in return for your doing. Logically, you would not do something that you do not like in return.
   
   I believe in treating others with great respect and you will receive the same in return.

    it's nothing .if karma was real, people everywhere would be experiencing it. it's another thing made up to try to keep people from misbehaving. between the belief in karma, the after-life and reincarnation, i sometimes wonder about the human race.

    Karma is the results of our activities.  Once we are embodied, every action that we make is followed by sequence of events, that is Karma.  We change our Karma by changing our consciousness, this will cahnge our actions and it works both ways.

    The word "karma" is often given negative connotations but it isn't necessarily negative - it encompasses everything.
    
    Karma is divine natural justice.
    
    It is cause and effect. 
    
    No, we don't always know the cause, hence we don't know what the effect ("our karma") will be.  The only way to change it & perhaps create "good karma" is to give more than we get.  That way, not only do you cancel out your debt to others but you give them even more ensuring that it has been twice cleared (but not necessarily creating a debt to you for the other person).  In a radical case, if somebody holds a gun to your head and tells you to give them your shoes, you assume you owe them due to karma so you give them not only your shoes, but your coat as well.
    
    Also, if you live your life by giving wholeheartedly and sincerely - not only are you cancelling out old "bad karma" but you avoid creating new "bad karma".
    
    The whole concept is cyclical - you don't know when the effect to which cause will come but only know that it is coming, and every effect and the way we handle it creates a new cause...
    
    That is my simple attempt to explain it.
