    What is your favourite quotation?

I have so many and one that always sticks with me is the final paragraph of Dickens', A Tale of Two Cities, "It is a far, far better thing that I do than I have ever done; It is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." You maybe need to have read the novel...

In a light hearted sense, Sir Winston Churchill had such an amazing sense of humour and when a prim and proper lady once suggested he was drunk at a dinner, he immediately replied, "Yes, madam - but you are ugly and I shall be sober in the morning..."

Hope to hear some good ones... smile

"Do'st though love life? The don't waste time cause that's the stuff life's made of." -Benjamin Franklin, "Aphorisms"

    "Reciprocation leads to Appreciation!"- J.S.Matthew

"Tolerance is the Key to Peace; Understanding is the Doorway"- J.S.Matthew

Sorry, I had to add my own in there!

    Great question!

I have several too. But the first that came to my mind when reading the question were two war leaders prayers and command.

Oliver Cromwell's prayer before the Battle of Naseby, in the English Civil War "Lord, thou knows I must be busy this day. Though I may forget thee, Do not forget me!" He led the Parliamentary forces to defeat King Charles I at that battle.

Horatio Nelson signal to the British fleet at Trafalgar, October 21, 1805. "England expects every man this day to do his duty." The Royal Navy then proceeded to defeat the combined French and Spanish fleets and secure British naval supremacy for the next 100 years.

"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere" - Albert Einstein

"Do not pray for easy lives, pray to be stronger men" - JFK

"I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done" - Lucille Ball

I can't remember this one exactly, or who said it but it's something like 'Do not judge a man by his past, judge him on the challenges that face him'.  Can anyone help with that one?

There's also an original line a friend of mine came up with:
"I'm a vegetarian.  Not because I love animals, but because I HATE plants."

"Everything in moderation". No matter what I do or where I go, this always seems true. I couldn't find who said it because I found about 5 people who did so if anyone knows for sure, let me know!

    peace.
it does not mean to be in a place
where there is no noise, trouble
or hard work. it means to be in
the midst of those things and still
    be calm in your heart.
