   My cat went missing, I feel so horrible... I can't stop crying.. What should I do!?
   
   I lost my cat at the pet store yesterday around 3PM, I can't stop crying... I don't know what to do. I am prone to anxiety attacks and I started having them. I hate being alone when I have them. My fiance is at work and I'm home alone. I keep feeling like my cat can be dead somewhere and its all my fault. I don't know what to do. I can't calm down. I just keep crying and screaming... I keep praying. I dont know how to calm myself down or how to find him. I hate this feeling.I feel like its my own flesh and blood child and he's gone missing.

   We just lost one of our cats a couple weeks ago. We immediately made up posters to put around our neighborhood (or in your case anywhere from the pet store to home). We received some disturbing news two days later when a neighbor told us that a cat that looked like ours had been hit by a car a block away. We were certain that poor izzy was gone forever until two nights later she came home on her own.
   
   Cats are smart and instinctive creatures, have faith that he will come home on his own, but be diligent, put up flyers, check with animal shelters, etc.

   Thank you Nefarious_Misery. We posted lost pictures, posting more today. I put an ad on craigslist.com. I know cats are smart, but its the area he got away in that frightens me.    I know exactly how you feel as this happened to me at the beginning of the summer. My cat went missing on a Thursday and he came back on the Sunday evening. It could be that your cat is in season and is looking for a mate. My cat just wandered home and ate his dinner as though nothing had happened. If I were you, I would print out some flyers and put them on lamp posts. You could put some through neighbours letterboxes and ask them to check their garages, sheds and outbuildings just in case your cat has gone in and been locked in by accident. Check at the local animal shelters. Put a leaflet in some of the shops nearby, It isn't your fault that your cat went missing as they are independent and do their own thing. Is your cat neutered? He/she could just be out exploring his/her territory. Try to keep calm as it really isn't your fault, it is quite common for them to go walkabout. I'm sure your cat will come back so don't give up hope. Best wishes,

   I am of the belief that the pain you generate will not do you or your cat any good.  I believe in the law of attraction and, in this case, you need to settle yourself down and act as if your cat is home.  Do your usual routine and go about your business knowing that he is safe and well.  Prepare his dinner, talk to his photo and tell him how lovely he is.  Feel the love and the love with feel you.  It is through love that he will come home.

   Oh NO!  I'm so sorry, I can only imagine how you feel.  Does he have a collar or microchip?  One time we were driving from Missouri to Michigan with our cat in the car.  She darted out of the car when we stopped for gas.  We searched, called, yelled... but nothing.  We had every truck driver at the gas stop looking for our beloved kitty.  We left our phone number with the gas station and a description of our cat.  It was hours before we reached our destination in Michigan... we lost her in Indiana.  When we arrived at our summer cottage, we discovered our cat had been found.  She'd made her way to a restaurant called The Chicken Coup.  We drove back to get her.  So, hang in there because there's still hope.
   
   Also, make sure you are checking your local Animal Aid and Humane Society.

   Wow! I know how tough this is - my cat got out a couple of years ago and was gone for a week. Use the practical tips below. Believe it or not though, a friend of mine who is psychic helped me find my cat! More importantly, though, pray, grieve, learn to love and care for what you have, and to love even though, eventually, there will be loss. This is hard, but pets can teach us the wisdom of not letting a moment go by without loving!
