Oh that hurts! I just got rejected by eBay! I read Paul's post and tried to follow, but it asked me all kinds of info. I gave them my HP URL as well as one of my personal blogs that's 2+ years old and gets 20,000+ views/month. So what gives? Paul???!!!

Here's the email I received from them:

Thank you for applying to the eBay Partner Network. We regret to inform you that we cannot accept your application at this time.
Like many other affiliate programs, eBay Partner Network has a thorough application vetting process to ensure a good fit between a potential affiliate and the goals of the network. There are a number of reasons why your eBay Partner Network application may have been declined. Some of these include:
â¢    You are not in compliance with the eBay Partner Network Agreement and/or Code of Conduct.
â¢    The stated website that you plan to promote us from is non-functioning or inaccessible
â¢    The quality of your stated website is not in line with our network standards
â¢    The information you submitted in your application (contact information and your description of how you plan to promote eBay Partner Network) is incomplete or unclear
â¢    Your business model or stated website does not appear to be one that would attract eBay buyers (the eBay Partner Network does not currently provide commissions for bringing eBay sellers or listings to the site)
â¢    Your business model involves re-directing traffic directly to eBay from display ad networks or paid search (no longer allowed per our Terms and Conditions)
â¢    Your business model involves a sub-affiliate model (no longer allowed per our Terms and Conditions)
If you feel that your application deserves a re-review, please forward any additional information that you would like us to consider to our Customer Support Team. It is not necessary to submit an additional application with a different email address. Requests that contain no new information about your promotional methods will not be reconsidered.

Sheesh, so I am more than capable of attracting Amazon buyers for eBay buyers are that much different? I give up...

Just from glancing over your Hubs, my guess would be that this is one of the main reasons you've been rejected.  A lot of your Hubs don't seem to be topics that would really drive sales.

I agree, Relache, which is why I gave them the URL's to my other hubs which DO drive sales.

it's dry humor, but i did get rejected, probably because i'm a liberal with long hair.

Is the personal blog you submitted on it's own domain? Or, is it hosted by blogspot or wordpress?

Hey, $10 would've bought you and me a cuppa coffee -- hopefully here in Connecticut! Maybe Amazon sales would've paid for the train ticket! smile

Very happy to have been suspicious (of eBay) and lazy (on my own account), thus having expended zero effort on eBay application(s).

Must confess I still buy an item now and again through 'em, though.  Kind of like a chocolate addiction....

I am still being looked at by Ebay, but the domain thing was a headeche. I have questioned them over where is the domain and just did what the hub people told me to do. I have had no response yet but reading these comments I am not holding out any hope. I have only been going just over a week and although my content would be useful to sell things on ebay have no wish to worry too much about them.

That sux Irohner.  I was just excepted by ebay last week and I posted the steps I took here http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/19778#post317983

I was rejected by them my first week here, but I tried again after Paul made his post about the ebay staying here with HP, this time with success.  I'm getting way more traffic to my amazon products than I am with ebay so it's no big loss if the pull away.

Mark Knowles wrote a hub on affiliates and he says that he is earning maybe $90 a month with ebay and closing in on $1000 a month with amazon.  I think that says a lot.

Yeah, that's what I'm hearing, LWR. I guess I'll just keep moving forward with Amazon and Adsense! Thx!

I'd agree with that...and when they go to their "quality click" payment scheme it'll be even less. I just did the figures, and my payment halves with their new scheme (not that it was much to begin with, but it means I won't be concentrating on expanding eBay for some time, if at all). At least Amazon are open with their levels of payment and are not hiding it behind undisclosed metrics. The quality of Amazon's program is better, and the rules are not constantly changing.
