   What would you do if you found a duffel bag full of money?
   
   Let's say its a lot of money; 500k, and the note on it says you can't turn it into the police.

   Well of course I would have to turn it into the police. Who knows that you could even spend it anyway and I think it would put a big fear on my heart that would give me no satisfaction from it if I could. Secretly I suppose I would hope there is a reward!

   Leave it where you found it. Chances are it belongs to people you wouldn't want to come calling to get it back, and if you spent, deposited or invested it the IRS and FBI would want to know where you got it and whether or not it's yours.

   I would never be tempted as I always put myself in other people's shoes and when I feel the agony of the person who lost it, I cannot think of enjoying it.

   Come on.whose gonna left a bag of 5000k money. The money must me fake. Try not to touch it. I have a friend who have a fake note and he always left it on the road to see peoples expessions.

   First, I would get it home.  I'd count it and separate it by denominations.  I'd then notify the authorities of the amount of money I had and that I found it.  Difficulties can arise from large quantities of money that are found.....are the bills marked by police or bank?   Was someone watching you pick up the money?...i.e. federal or local police or the owner of the cash.  was it a kidnapping drop?  Finally, is it counterfeit?  Turning it over to legitimate law enforcement ensures it will be retained by them intact.   If and the word is IF it is not claimed within a given period of time, then you may claim it.  Of course IRS will want their share.  Consider consequences

    keep it. spend it very very slowly,keep it. why would you turn it in. you been bless. don't be a fool and don't spend it at once. paid you bills with money orders and when you go out spend money. KEEP IT AND KEEP QUIET. MOVE NOW FOR ONLY ONE KIND OF PEOPLE HAVE THAT KIND OF CASH AND STOP BLOGGING ABOUT IT.

    It might depend on the circumstances...if i was homeless and had four or five tiny children to care for and they were at the point of starvation, i honestly believe that 'the what I would do' would be quite different than if i were to find it now.
    
    if i were to find it now, i would probably take it home and run an ad on-line, in the newspaper, pass out flyers, suggesting that a container was found at such and such location ...if the owner would contact me and give the exact amount it
    contained including an accurate description of the 'container',  they could claim it.
    i would keep it for probably six months to a year ; if no one claimed it, then see what good i could do with the money in my town.

    I would go nowhere near that bag.
    
    First, no one is supposed to touch strange bags or cases as they might contain explosives, Few people think about this.
    
    Second, with the video surveillance that is everywhere these days, the odds are that I would be seen picking up the bag and taking the money. The odds are that money that is crammed into a duffel bag is drug or organized crime money, I do not want to think about the consequences of taking it!
    
    I might call the police to come and deal with it.

    I would probably secure the money and begin asking questions to the people who might be in the area. Then I would probably look around for the hidden cameras and the guy with the microphone waiting to yell "You're on Candid Camera!"

    Finders keepers right? If there was no address or I.D. on the bag...I'd keep it, it's hard to believe that so many people wouldn't! I wouldn't spend it straight away so as not to arise suspicions. And when I did start to spend, I would spend most of it it on making a difference in other peoples lives...people who need it more than the daft sole who left 500k behind without looking back. If you found a 20 ya'd pick it up, why not 500k?

    First thing I'd do is look around to see if I could spot a camera crew, cuz my first thought would be that I'm about to be the victim of a reality-TV prank.
    
    If no such camera is visible, I'd ask in a stage whisper, "Hey... anybody lose a bag full of money?"
    
    If there was no reply, I'd grab that sucker and run for the hills.
