   I was just surfing the web looking for backlinks and some how found this site.  I join it and enjoyed it.  The people on the hubpages are very wise and nice.

   You asked someone else but I'd love to answer. I don't know what brought me here I googled something and I ended up here. I didn't come here for backlinks nor did I come here to earn. I guess I googled free subdomains
   
   I loved the way everything was organized and now that everything is going well and traffic is increasing - I can't get enough of it

   I saw an ad on FaceBook and check it out and wanted to give it try to put my writing out to the world and here I am some 20 months later with 271 hubs.

   I found this in a writing magazine. I thought it would be a good place to put my children stories  on h/p and it has prove that point.

   I was participating on a writers forum, when one of the participants mentioned HubPages. I pestered her with a lot of questions, then decided to join.
   Thanks to hubber DonnaCSmith. She does great work--- and has published a few books. Look her up.

   I love this question J.S.  I was heavily involved in writing for "ehow" and doing well. I loved it. Then, suddenly everything began to change. The writing site, ehow, decided to go with the parent company, "Demand Studios."
   
   That's when things became very confusing. I no longer felt the same about writing.
   When I was about ready to give up my love of writing, I was contacted by someone on ehow and told to try Hubpages.
   
   The rest is history. This is by far the best of all writing websites. I have grown so much.  The friends and support here are like discovering gold. :_)

   Hey  J.S.Matthew i found hubpages online and i was instantly attracted to it. I was always looking for new ways too make money online and hubpages seemed like it could work for me. The thing that made me join was the success many other hubbers were having. I also read some of your hubs and they are very informative by the way.

   I had been a member for a long time and would visit and read articles, but my friend Marye Audet was very successful writing here and encouraged me to give it a try. I'm really glad I did. I like the freedom of being able to write what I want and make a little extra money. I also like the community here at HP.

    I was surfing the net for some ways of online income and stumbled on to hubpages. I liked the idea and read about the success stories before I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did.

    A friend had already joined and kept nagging me - yes, nagging! - to do so too.  After a few months of that, I joined pretty much to shut her up.  Was my first foray into writing online. Then a few months later I discovered blogging, started one, and had the pleasure of nagging my friend into starting her own blog.  ;D

    I first heard about Hubpages when Myspace was still going strong.  I was clearly hooked on blogging, and some friends told me that I should consider trying to make a little bit of money while I was at it.
    
    I'd say that fine advice on the part of some good friends, and they led me to here.

    I had started writing at Squidoo.com in April 2006 when it came out of beta, and that summer word went round that a similar but different site called HubPages was inviting people while they were still beta testing.
    
    So I came to the site, wrote in for an invite and got invited by CEO Paul Edmondson.  I was the 227th person to join HubPages.

    I use to write on Helium. One day I came across an article on helium about the top ten sites to write, HubPages was on second spot (Helium was number one). I took the tour. The site had an edge over helium and I decided to join. For few months I did not know what to publish. The when I started writing on helium, the got amazing feedback. Now I feel addicted. I love the wonderful hub community.

    I first heard about a few months ago when I was looking at ways to earn income online. More recently PoshCoffeeCo, who is a writer here, encouraged me to come back as I had created a profile without writing a singe hub for months. I am now hooked

    I saw it mentioned various places, and finally checked it out. I think it has a lot to offer self-motivated writers, and a lot to offer readers. I also enjoy the community here.

    I first heard about it through a WAHM job postings site.  I decided to join because I was looking for work at home opportunities and this seemed right up my alley, as I've always had a passion for writing.  I'm so glad that I'm here!

    I stumbled upon hubpages by accident a couple years ago while browsing online. It seemed like a friendly and wonderful communit,  and a great place for me to share my knowledge, be creative, and help others. I'm happy to be a hubber!

    I just quit my job to write full time and found Hubpages while doing research for my novel.  I wish I remember what I was researching or whose hub I first landed on.  Anyway, I started looking around the site and signed up that day.  I published my first hub a few days later.  I'm so glad I stumbled upon it.  It's been great fun being here.  The novel has suffered a bit, though.  : )

    I first heard of HP while doing a job search through MonsterJobs.com. I decided to join HP because I believe that the time is now for me to pursue my gift of writing and HP seemed like a great community for me to do just that.

    I took a class about getting started in online writing--from Lela Davidson, a local writer where I live. She talked about HubPages as a possible resource, and that's what stuck with me, even though she mentioned more resources. She is actually very successful, and has published a book or two. Check her out on HubPages. She's doing a lot of other things, so I don't think she is very active on HP anymore, but I think that HubPages helped her to get her start. And she helped me to get MY start with online writing.
