I saw an ad on my facebook page and clicked!
how did you hear about it?
i was looking for advice about bunnies, since i have one, and i followed some Google links to one of Bunniez' fantastic hubs about bunnies.
i think she is the first person i fanned on here. she's AWESOME!
I literally ran across it on the internet about a month ago and decided to give it a try... so far so good.
Google told me. I like Google
Though it lied a little bit ...
Randomly found it when searching for tips on how to make money online ..ironically.
~thranax~
Found it while researching information on how to publish a book and tips on writing query letter to publishing agents.
Someone mentioned it in another forum, can't remember where. I never looked back
It was either by searching for 'make money online' or 'get free back-links' or some combination of the two.
I googled writers wanted, hubpages caught my eye and pretty much been addicted ever since!
Congratulations Bard of Ely on your hub score 100 !!! You so deserve it.
I was looking into a how to make money online and the one I had looked at seemed to be a scam and so I was searching for a legitimate way and hubpages came up in one of the searches and once I found hubpages I knew I was home and stopped searching.
I was lens-building at Squidoo when HubPages first launched their beta phase (summer of 2006) and emailed Paul Edmondson to get an invite so I could join.
really, how exciting to be there at the beginning and to watch it grow!
Seriously. For example, there were no forums for the entire first year.
that's amazing that it's grown so big in just a few short years.
the quality of the writing here is what attracted my attention.
we can learn so much from people such as yourself and I appreciate those who are so willing to help! I googled something today to find out the name of a restaurant and a hubpage article came up and gave me my answer!
Speaking of big, HubPages just passed the half million mark in Hubs a few minutes ago.
congrats to Hubpages
keep writing hubbers~~~
interesting to see how people found HP, thanks for all the response so far~~
from a friend. Now that I am addicted, I may not have time for this friend anymore.
Someone had a link to their hubpages profile on another forum. I clicked, and here I am.
I was researching Suite101 to see if you could make money from writing for it ... and came across many positive articles about this site. This seemed to be a less restrictive writing site, so I came here instead. I wish I'd discovered this place a few years ago, though. I feel so behind.
I was looking through my local newspaper's online ads for work and here I am.
A FB friend told me I should post some of my poetry here. The rest is history...
As the financial crisis going on, I was searching through internet how to have supplemental income.........
I saw it posted when I was looking up internet writing jobs. I don't remember where but so far I'm glad I stumbled upon it.
I saw it posted when I was looking up internet writing jobs. I don't remember where but so far I'm glad I stumbled upon it.
My sister e-mailed me a link to one of James Watkins Hub, addicted ever since.
A great question, and I've found reading the answers here really interesting. I found it on an article I read about where you can publish your writing online (found squidoo the same way).
I have no clue as to how I found HubPages. What I do know is I wish I wasnt such a dam fool when I got my first account deleted 2 years ago because I was a stupid spammer.
Oh sure back then I believed it was all Hubpages fault and then I wasted almost 2 years before I came back and started doing things properly.
Just think if I would have hung around I could be famous, lol, ta right.
An internet friend on another writer's site, Donna C. Smith, said she was going to try it... and I thought it sounded interesting a little over a year and a half ago. She's still here, so am I.
I don't know how she found it.
I think I saw somebody place a project in eLance looking for ghostwriters for Hubpages. So I clicked the link and ended up here.
I can't remember.
Sometimes I wish I never did.
It's addictive!
Sometimes for the wrong reasons. But I have learned a lot, (in more ways than one).
I agree aka~ there's a lot of good info on this site and I'm amazed at what can be found here~ it's a nice addiction~
Oh, you probably haven't been in any religion or politics forums yet. It's not always so NICE! :
But I do know what you mean.
oh yes, I've walked into both and don't stay too long ~~ one poster shouted my name in politics and I thought, how old are we here??? 5??
I just happened on a hub page while browsing for something. It was by Crazyhorsesghost, which caught my eye.
so far, most have heard while searching online for:
writers needed/work
ways to make more $
search for specific info
one was searching about bunnies
one was lens-building at squidoo
facebook ad
one local news
newspaper ad
friend
sister's email
other forums
link on someone's profile
one can't remember
and you?
I first saw hubpages while building some easy backlinks on a new topic via Yahoo answers, one of the previous commenters had a link to a topic with almost the exact same title as mine.
I followed the link and saw a completely terrible, broken english spammy crappy article, and this was my impression of hubpages.
A few months later I was reviewing the 30dc course materials and read through the hubpages and squidoo portions.
i was familiar with squidoo and was a fan of seth grodin for years already but was also aware of the big google slap.
So I gave Hubpages a try..one of my first articles from my first week was featured for a couple of weeks and had a high 90's score, the traffic was great so my second first impression was excellent and i decided to work it into my network/system, and glad that i did

Hi! My name is Max and I'm new to hubpages. For all you experienced hubbers out there, do you have any advice for young hubbers like myself getting started in hubpages and fitting in? Cheers,Max

How did you first find out about Hubpages?Personally, I heard about Hubpages from a fellow writer over on Triond, where I first started writing online almost four years ago now. I signed up and haven't looked back since. How did you hear about HP?

How did you find out about Hubpages?I stumbled upon Squidoo about two months ago. I was finding it difficult because I didn't know html and then I read an article comparing Hubpages to Squidoo.. so I did, and the rest as they say is history. I love it here. I don't have to do html...
