   I've written a book, and I'm in the process of writing another. The process in itself is hard, but its also fun, and enlightening. Not only do I get to have an outlet for my creativity, but I get ideas for future projects!
   
   Getting the book published is the most rewarding thing that you can do. Once your book is published, then you can start thinking about setting your prices, and learning how to market your product, which in turn helps you meet and get the attention of a lot of important people in the writing industry!

   My first novel, The Rivers Webb, was just published this past December.  I am currently editing my second, third and fourth novel; writing my fifth, and awaiting to see if publication on my first short story collection is a go.  I keep busy.  The thing that most surprised me about having my first book published is how obsessed I get with marketing!  I spend hours on end, contacting libraries, blogging, writing articles, and doing everything to get my name out.  AT the end of the day, I feel like I've been stretched out and left for dead -- and yet I'm on my computer first thing in the morning to do it all over again.

   I have written two books, one is published, A Distant Calling. It is about a young woman traveling in Ecuador, she is mistaken for someone else, is kidnapped for ransom and blah blah blah.....love and romance ensue - it is not sexually graphic so it is like a PG adventure romance.  But it is self-published.  I had one offer from a questionable place and turned it down - and never submitted it again.  I really really hate rejection - so I self-published and it felt pretty darn good.
   
   The second novel that I wrote strictly for my own amusement when I was fighting a depression, is called Riker's Folly and it is a Star Trek, TNG novel.  I had so much fun writing it, it lifted me out of the depression - I started looking forward to writing every day to see what adventure I was going to have - and it worked.

   I've had several published by publishers and I just self-published a reprint of one of my books I have the rights back to. I used Amazon's Kindle program. It was surprising easy to get it up there. I'm just waiting to see how it does and if I want to self-publish the others this way or sell them to a small press instead.
   
   I am always so surprised when a book gets published. I never take it for granted, because I know so many authors who are struggling to find a publisher these days. Self-publishing does seem to be growing by leaps and bounds. As long as you edit it well and put out a quality product, I see nothing wrong with self-publishing. Some of the self-pubbed authors I know make excellent money on their releases.
   
   As a professional writer, my goal is to retain as much right to my work as possible and make the most money possible off that work. The rest is just a means to a goal.

   I have written two books.  One is on the principles of integrity titled Integrity: Do you have it? 2nd edition and the other is what makes a good audit. 
   
   Integrity is something that is needed more today than at any other time in our history and my book defines the concept and helps the reader understand the principles involved.  It connects several aspects of society to the principles and how to measure each against a common set of criteria established in the book.
   
   My auditing book discusses and presents the aspects of a good audit from two perspectives, the auditor and those being audited.  Each element has responsibilities and benefits.  Both are discussed to get the best from each perspective.

   My husband self published his book and shares his story about his findings on cancer  research he found to be helpful and in fact save his life.  I am so glad he took a frightening diagnosis and found the right path for his healing.  It gave him a huge project to focus on during this crucial time of decision making for his own survival. The book is titled:
   Healing Cancer Can Be Fun: Cancer Strategies For First Time Diagnosed Cancer Patients.  His book can be easily found by reading my hub called "Writing Your Book" which I published today.

    I've published one book, and now working on the sequel. Kinda frustrating some times, but trying to keep the reader interested at all times and then reading your finished book, makes ya feel great.

    Presently, I have submitted a manuscript to a publisher.  Hope I can soon tell what it's like breaking through.  My book is about romance over sixty, and never failing to pursue dreams that started decades ago.

    I have enough material in my spiritual and healing articles to gather up and put under the cover of at least one book and would like to do that at some point. At the moment, no immediate plans to do so. As for what I would write about, as mentioned, most is already written.

    I've written several short books - but never published. I'm really shy since most of my books contain a large amount of my own opinions and most people in the books account from real people.

    I do want to eventually write a book for myself, however up until now I did not really have the time to dedicate to writing.  I have two book writing goals for myself, the first is to write a general how to book with regards to organizational leadership and my other goal is to write a science fiction novel (this has actually been in the works since I was in the 8th grade in 1996).

    Ok, truth time. yes, I wrote a book, about thirty years ago now. It was a cookbook and I had a friend do some sketches for it. It was rejected by about four major publishing houses. I still have it and someday may rework it.
    I also wrote a second which I did not send in anywhere but I have 'published' a lot of it here on hubpages....

    No, I have never written a book. But I would love to write one someday. I like humor and wit. So if I write I would love to write something that's a cross of O Henry and Jerome K Jerome. Now this question is really making me think about my almost forgotten fancy about writing. I am glad I found this question here.

    I started writing a book and actually completed 15 chapters in two days.  Then I hit a wall.  I know the ending but I can't get from 15 to the end because I want to put in red herrings and smoking guns and aren't sure how to do this.  I'm still reading books about this method.  I even wrote a hub about writing this book.  Knowing me as I do , I suspect that I will never complete it so I'm considering puting the chaptes in HP and see where that leads me.  Possibly it willl shake me out of my writer's block and I will be able to move forward.  Here's hoping.
