Is our destiny in God's hands or do we actually have free will, being that God knows all?
It is very difficult question to answer and mind, difficult and complex questions have no answers at all. .Both of your statements are right and both are wrong simultaneously. It is the quality of truth to be paradoxical. God is light as well as darkness. it depends on the perspective from which you are seeing the truth. Truth is never one dimensional. There can not be one or single definition of god . every person has his own conception of god.It depends on which stage of spiritual evolution one is passing. one time you will see nothing is in your control and on other occasion you will see I am master of my destiny. ..
We have free will. Otherwise, why would God call us? How could our faith be tested if it was all pre-ordained? There would be no test, only an experience.
Everything God has said will happen, WILL happen. However, note carefully that details have been left out. Get out of Mystery Babylon or suffer with her for her offenses. We all have a choice, stay in America, and suffer, or leave and take our chances elsewhere.
Though the infiltrated church preaches once saved always saved as doctrine, the Bible (Jesus, God, and all the prophets) says that our actions count. Every day we have opportunities to "do unto the least of these" and actually do it unto Jesus.
Both, actually. We have "our" free will and God has His which is written for us. Its our chose to either rely on our own will or trust in the will of God.
none of the above. we are alive and we create our own future. there is no god that controls anything.
If we in fact have freedom of will, then we also implicitly have the power to choose the future through our decisions today. That being so, then God does not know the future. He may see its myriad pathways, but He could not know which one we individually or collectively will take.
If one is a Christian, a broad reading of the Bible bears out that view. For example, if God knew the Law would not work out, then it is inconceivable He would have wasted time, lives and souls trying it only to discard the concept of salvation by obedience in favor of salvation by grace. The whole sweep of the Biblical story, read from such a Christian perspective, is that God has tried one way after another to bring His stray sheep back into His fold, something He has had no cause to do were He all knowing.
Therefore, God is not omniscient. He does not know the future, or at any rate He does not know which of the potential futures we will choose. The idea of predestination is a mistaken one.
Some folks believe that we have partial free will because it's depressing to think that we have no free will at all. Jerry G2 said it best in his article, "Predestination Vs Free Will" when he said, "fuzziness" of existence.
But others say that "Randomness or chaos does not imply free will - even if disguised as the "God Particle" of quantum physics." - http://hubpages.com/t/1608a3
God knows what the outcome will be, both if we choose his destiny for us or if we choose our own way. The choice is ours and he patiently waits for us to choose his destiny and plan for us, giving us repeated opportunities to choose his way.
The way I see it, our God creates us,as well as the other parts of his universe as an artist creates a work of art. In spite of the flaws or imperfections, he continues to throw our clay upon his wheel of life and with each new vessel that he casts, he takes pride in its beauty and then he strives even harder to create the next, and the next, with a greater love and care in ts preparation to be placed in a kiln, or oven and made into a brand new pot. This is his "testing by fire", and when the new pot is done, he removes it from the fire with gentle and loving hands to be admired until the ends of time. I also believe that our creator knows that he will get his spirits back, no matter the result of each's outcome as they are faced by trials and tribulations on this earth. He strives to make us all better and at the same time gives us the gift of life to enjoy and marvel at all that is provided for us and how grand it is.WE are granted a free will as long as we abide by the rules of life and when we do not, then I believe it is taken from us and given to some one else, be it a disease, act of aggression, or self destruction that brings it all about.
A man asked same question to a Noble Man. The Noble Man asked him to pick his one leg so he did. When he picked one leg, the Noble Man asked him to pick his 2nd leg too. The man said how he can do this as it's not in his capacity. The Noble Man replied, "Same is the case with Destiny and Your Will, You can do something but you can't do everything".
Actually the fact is that God wrote everything but even then He gave you choice. Now what actually happens: God wrote that this man will have 1000 bucks this morning and He gave you choice that how you get these 1000 bucks i.e. you earn with hardwork or get it with some false meaning.
Hope these two facts will clear this point.
We have free will. We create our own fucture on a bases of deshion making. God can provide guidance and truth for us but its up to us rather or not we choose to abide by what he wants for us. I have learned first hand that when I try to control my own life based on what I beleave to be right for me I mess it up I pearsonaly rely on strenghth and guideance of a higher power.
I believe you are confusing "Free Will" with, "Free Choice" Mankind could never have "Free Will", It is impossible. You have no power to be able to "Will" anything. You will never be able to look at a rock and command it through your will to do anything.
On the other hand though, you have the free power to choose to do or not do anything you so wish to. When people ask my "Why do you do such and such, my answer is because I choose to and because I can or I am able to.
I believe it's both. We have free will to make our own decisions in life, even free will to either choose to love & honor God, or reject God.
Since God is all-powerful, omni-present, everywhere all at once, and omniscient, He sees and knows everything that has ever happened throughout the entire course of history. He created matter, the universe, our planet, and humans, and He created time and history. So He has always been around, and thus He knows everything. And He does cause events to happen a certain way sometimes, and people to chose certain paths. But these are people who have already decided to let God make His home inside of them, and who love & follow Him.
God does not force His will, His plan, or even His presence upon anyone who doesn't want it, because He wants to be loved and known by people who WANT to love and know Him. He did not create mindless puppets to be pulled by His strings, and He does not want people to serve Him out of fear, or any other reason, but out of love.
I also believe that God can have several different life paths prepared in advance for us, depending on what direction we choose to walk down. I think choosing a career and choosing a mate are two good examples of this. Sometimes, there is this ONE perfect person you are meant to be with, and sometimes there is this ONE perfect career you were meant to have. But I think usually there are a few different possibilities for each, and they may change depending on which direction you choose for your life.
Although there may be several different paths for your life you could choose, I think it's very wise to ask God to show you and lead you to His BEST plan for your life. Ask Him to help you make wise decisions that will maximize your potential, be beneficial for others, and that will satisfy your soul. What career or potential future spouse makes you "come alive" and be the best you can be? Figure out which one, and go after that! That person or career was probably put there by God, for you to find and choose.
I believe that we have a free will, but that God, in all of his infinite wisdom, knows what we will chose before we choice it. It is confusing but simple at the same time. He is in control of the big picture, but we can control our actions and what we say and do. I believe he has the hairs on our heads numbered, as well as the days we have on this earth.
God gave us free will and the free will to figure out and learn what God's will is for us. I believe we determine out destiny by the choices we make in life. We can choose what path we take in life.
If God is indeed All Powerful, All Knowing, and Everywhere, then we have no free will, what we have is an illusion made by the the creator. The word All means that there is no more, so if God is All powerful, there is only one power and we are but puppets in God's show. If God knows everything then God already knows whar we will do before we even have the thought. In other words God would have written our life story and given us the ability to play it through. If we were indeed created by God and God has the above mentined qualities then my conclusion is that there can onle be God's will no free will. I know does not sound so inspiring, sorry. Best wishes
God helps those who help themselves. Free will of humans is very important.

Believers believe that God knows everything. Then why many believers pray to God loudly, shouting and many times on microphone?

If God is omni present and knows the past ,present, and future, then why would he test us when...he already knows the outcome of our actions?
