It may take couple of weeks. After submitting few hubs and answering several questions, there were some welcome message from the community. It may take longs to make friends who have same hobbies with me on hubpages. But I am very patient.

Right away - several great Hubbers read my first few hubs and welcomed me. I know now that they're part of the volunteer 'greeters' here (they are mentioned as Elite members). But I appreciated the welcomes tremendously, and they work hard to make this a friendly community. I now feel many of them are friends.

I was made to feel welcome immediately. I was not even a member. I would read a hub and comment on the story or article and had friendly comments back. When I did join, all the friends that I had made came and followed me. I never saw a greeter and did not even know about them for months. I have also greeted people when I see that they have not been on long or had no comments. I also share about them and send them readers.

On my very first day here, my very first post, or hub......

    Some came to welcome me...........

Theirs are the hubs and answers that I look for first.

Much liking walking into a house and knowing it will be your home,
or sitting in a car and knowing it will be your ride, or walking into
    a church and finding peace...............

I was at home , on my first day.   I was welcomed.

I have met ( loosely speaking) people who I can build relationships,
learn from, teach, guide, take guidance from...........and those, with
sometimes we might find a common thread.

    Day one.

First time I hit "publish" was a total misfire.  I didn't understand the capsule system....and had no clue what I was doing.....but I figured it out, and fixed the mess I'd made.

I was instantly welcomed with a well thought out comment and fan mail by this guy:

    http://amwerner.hubpages.com/

It really picked up from there - I published crap, absolute crap - and folks still either liked it or were friendly anyway.  You can't beat this community.

Oh, the very 1st day! I think I got about 10 followers on the day of my joining, which was very surprising and made me feel like being a part of this great community right from the start.

I was only on the site a few miniutes when I had hubbers giving me a very warm welcome to Hub Pages - it really did make a difference as no one likes to be the new kid on the block.

I felt welcome immediately.  Although I really don't have a large number of followers or huge traffic, I enjoy the interaction that I've had so far and I feel I've connected with other writers that share similar knowledge and interests.
