There are many moments but one in particular stands out pretty well to this day. When I was a little, I tried crossing the street as a truck was speeding by, it nearly hit me but something pulled me back and I fell to the ground as the truck roared by me inches away. Ever since that day I've wondered what it was that happened. I know it doesn't sound like a pleasant memory but it actually started me on a path of finding my spirituality. When it happened, I told my parents an angel must have saved me. Who knows what exactly took place, I still don't. However, it had a positive effect on the way I view life.

Everytime it rained, we all rushed to get ready and drive out to the lake nearby and have ice cream at the parlour. I don't know why, but we did it so many times - dad, mum, bro and me and it used to be so much fun..."its raining, lets go!!" - smile a great memory from my childhood days

So many to choose from...but the first one that came to mind today was playing in the mud puddles with my sister after a rainstorm. We'd don our "cool" rubber boots and go splashing! After what seemed like hours, Mom would be ready at the door with two big towels and hugs to dry us off.

My favorite memory was of my father. He took me to the old Fishermans Wharf restaurant. It was just me and him. We had lunch there, and I got the chance to pick my own dessert. It was on a revolving glass display. There were so many cakes and pies to choose from. I, of course got a chocolate cake with loads of frosting. It is one of my fondest memories. It was just me and Dad, and it made me feel very special.

So many to chose from. One of them is, I was then at Class V when one day I saved a wounded sparrow from the reach of a crow while returning from playground in the evening. After about 3-4 weeks of nursing and feeding, the sparrow could fly and one day after coming back from school, I found that the sparrow had flied off. That day I cried and did not eat anything. Those days were one of my favourable memory.

Going bug hunting in my back garden. I used to love turning over rocks and seeing what was under there. I'd pick up anything except slugs. I also used to love listening to my granddads war stories, the perfect way to wile away a rainy day.

My most favorite childhood memories are the summers. I wrote about this in Growing up in Virginia series here on hub pages. In the summers, my cousins came from all over the US for several weeks. We had so much fun. There wereno tv, no computer, no ipod, no cell phone. We just had fun outside doing all of the water activiites, collecitng veggies and fruit, feeding the animals, running and chasing and playing.

I had so much fun when I was in my younger years. My favorite are those times I spent with my friends running around the neighborhood and picking fruits & vegetables along the way.
