    Is God Real?

With so many different "Gods" in so many different religions what encourages you to BELIEVE in your God of your faith?

I think God is very real. I have heard it said that God can not be real because nothing existed before the big bang. Well what if the universe is God's thought and and the big bang was when he thought it.  Also I rarely go to church but I pray a lot.    I have seen god work in my life to many times to discredit.

God is a concept. It is as real as you make it out to be, is god tangible? no...

Hmmm... He is a concept, but whether God is tangible or not doesn't really address the question of whether he is "real."

Is God real? and Does God exist are two separate questions.  I know I don't have a religious faith so I guess this question doesn't really apply to me, but I won't answer the question so much as redirect it.

Is the Matrix real?  If you have an experience that is indistinguishable from reality in every observable way, then why isn't it real?  It hit your brain the same way a real experience would have and you had a reaction to it that was genuine and meaningful.

Whether God exists or not, some people behave as if he does, so the effect of God can be felt, measured and quantified, so in every sense that matters, God is "real".  Each and every one out there is real, even the dangerous ones.

Very curious answer. Sounds like you have been reading Descartes - Cogito Ergo Sum

Manifestations!  What we believe can become real with enough faith!  Both good and evil!

MilesArmbruster: That reminds me..... Did you know Renee always opened doors for prostitutes?  Yeah... That's because you never put Descartes before the whores.

You can fiddle with this question until you find yourself giggling incessantly and drooling on your shirt in elevators, just going up and down and up and down and watching the lighted numbers change but never really getting off on any of the floors.

Actually I think that is what became of my academic advisor when I was studying philosophy... I can't remember, and not just that, all of my shirts are wet and I keep getting stuck in elevators.

Is God real? Yes of course.

Now go make yourself a sandwich or something before you get yourself in real trouble. smile

Yes. I do believe God is real even though we may not have scientific proof.

It is like I do believe there is Qi energy but we cannot see it. It exists.

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." (Romans 1:20)

In short, the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit. Only the Spirit can convict, and only the Holy Bible holds the truth. No other religious leader in history claimed to be God and no other man in history was able to perform miracles like Jesus did. No other book is as remarkable as the Holy Bible, with so many fulfilled prophecies, so much historical accuracy, so much science before its time - and so consistent written over the course of 1500 years by 40 different authors from various walks of life.

I was going to answer this until I read your answer. Why be redundant. Of course, I could always write a hub and say waaaaayyyy too much. Nice concise answer!

Just a side note.  There are many cultural stories from Native Americans that speak of miracles!  Jesus was not the only one performing at God's hands, He may have been the son of God, but there are miracles out there Jesusless but full of God!

One might ask the same question about life. Is life real? If you live and breathe, can think and question your creator, then there has to be God. God has to have more patience and grant us more grace, in order to allow us to question His reality. In the Bible scriptures we are shown a vivid picture and real answer to who God is. There is one scriptural reference that says "We made man", which might well indicate that God is more than one entity and made of more than the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Why do scientist who were once agnostics, or atheistic, now come to the conclusion that there is indeed, a creator who made all of the universe? Can you answer the question as to what is the meaning of infinity and really understand it, as a human being whose life is based upon a beginning and an end? There are many questions that remain unanswered and may always as to the real truth. As human beings, we will, of course, keep asking and seeking answers.

God is not Fake for sure... He's right up there...
Talking about different Gods in different religions....I would say, He's present in different forms so as to comfort and soothe all...
But, God is God... There's only one...present everywhere in different forms...

each person is their own god so i guess you could say he or she is real. when you pray, the only one hearing it is you and that's what makes you god.

I believe there is only one supreme God. Just many of us take different routes and have different agents to get to him. If God , of your understanding, is real, that's all that matters.

In my life, mind and heart He is real.  I have chosen to believe his presence is real due to my experiences and values.

I can't help but look at this from different perspectives. Because of my strong interest and passion in intercultural communication and cultural studies, I cannot hold myself to one primary religion over another; hence, I have to see why people believe in one God or in gods and goddesses. Monotheistic (one god) believers may believe their truth while polytheistic (many deities) may believe it is their truth. It is all a matter of perception, culture, and how culture has influenced religion and vice versa. I do advise, though, not to be selective of which religion is better and who's God, or deities, are better than others.
