If you were to begin, and/or openly create, your own religion what would it be like?
Include: laws, codes, symbols, characters, settting, objective, etcetera.
The religion would be call Katism & 1 follower would be a Kataton, multiple followers would be Katatons... so when someone asks "what religion are you?" The answer would be "I'm Katatonic" .... catatonic hehehe
In this religion, everyone would worship me & give me 10% of their income as offerings or gifts They would submit to the understanding and belief that I am always right.
Katatons would respect the environment & recycle as part of their religious practice. Animal rights would be high on the list of Must Do's and need to be respected.
Everyone would need to believe in magic, fairies, and dragons.
For every act done for the self, an equal act must be done for someone else or the "greater good".
You would need to leave any area or place better than it was before you were there - this includes rooms, buildings, the earth...
Any anger disputes or disagreements would be solved in a grudge-match using weapons of choice from a Nurf arsenal. These grudge-matches could be private or public, depending upon the situation surrounding it.
Marriage would last for 2 years and need to be renewed every 2 years or it become nullified... so there would be no divorce. Renewal would be free
If you are found guilty of discrimination of any kind: your punishment would be to live as whatever or whomever you discriminated against for an entire year.
Sexist men would have to wear dresses, make up, high heals, and fake boobs.
People against the homosexual community would have to wear a prominent shirt or tag that says "Proud to be GAY", they would get a homosexual liaison (of the same gender) who would act as their public chaperon, pick out their clothes, and introduce them to the gay community.
Wealthy people who attack the poor would need to live in poverty. Any income they try to earn during this time that reaches above the poverty line would be given to charity.
You get the idea....
If you are convicted of a crime and go to prison you get NO free education, you are put to work at minimum wage, all of that income goes to pay for the expense of your incarceration and to make tribute payments to what the crime was against. If you killed someone, it goes to their family. If you destroyed property it goes to repair or replace it. If you stole something, you'll buy the person a newer model of whatever it is you took.
Seniors would be respected as elders and treated like royalty.
Well, that's about it for my word count.... hope you enjoyed it!
it would be called "believe". it would be all about believing in each other, not some mythical god. no symbols or main characters and the objective would be to make it so we actually believe in each other to the point where we respect others who believe in the same way.
It would be nameless because it is so powerful, everyone would automatically know what it was. There would be no church or house to go to, no specific prayer to say, everyone would be welcome, no judgements of any kind, although there would be punishments, like maybe you'd lose your voice for a day or maybe your car won't start depending on what you did lol, no eternal damnation and when you did something good, you'd be rewarded in such a way, all you would want to do is do good all the time.
Of course I would be God, so you would eventually have to bow down to me at some point and bring me lots of flowers and candy. I have spoken. Kneel before Rosana. lol

Why would god create atheists who can't be convinced of his existence?
by Glen 14 years ago
The world will never know peace. How can it? People are too busy enjoying hating each other.
by Chaplain Bernell Wesley 11 years ago
Why do you think Atheists argue against something they don't believe in?Is it rational to argue against a belief that you don't ascribe to? Why would my personal belief impact someone with different beliefs. Can denying someone a right to believe be considered normal.
by Eric Dierker 9 years ago
Can anyone really argue against a faith based belief?A good friend of mine was just trying to dissuade me from my beliefs. And he was quite good and convincing. But alas we agreed that if my beliefs were founded in my faith then arguing was pointless and that it was just the way it is. And likewise...

I am sincerely curious as to why those who do not believe in the existence of God would spend time and energy to convince others to believe the same? I am asking this respectfully and am seeking true, valid answers--not attacks or arguments. I just want to understand the...
