   What is the special name you use for your Grandmother?
   
   My maternal grandmother was Grannie and my paternal grandmother was Mamaw. My own precious (yes, I am partial) grandson calls me Ahsha.

      Grandad bad foot had a bad foot when I was young. It healed but the name stuck.

   Ahsha is a special unique name for a special and unique grandmother. Always called grands by their first names for some reason I have no idea of. Nanny bad foot or something would have been better lol.

   on my dad's side was nana and pappap, my mom's gram and grandpop, my mom was memaw to my kidlets, and i'm grammy to mine. my great grandmother was grandmom and great grandfather was pappy.

   My maternal grandmother was Nan and grandfather was grandad. I am a Nana.
   Isn't Mamaw from the Cajuns?

   My grandmothers have always been Mema to my siblings and I. My kids now call their grandmothers Nana, Mimi, and Grammy.

    I used to call her Abuela which is Spanish for Grandmother.  Many refer to a shorter version or nickname as Abuelita or "lita".

    Just plain ol "Grandma" and sometimes "Grammie", but my mom gets called Nana and now even her kids (to which I'm one of six) call her Nana too.

    In chinese communities, "Ah ma" is the regular name we call our grandmother. My son called his grandmother " ma-ma" instead. Everyone thought that he was calling me!

    I called my paternal grandmother Nana, grandfather Ghagi (?not sure why? but at that point everyone else already did).  My maternal grandfather was Papa, and grandmother was called ?( she had passed away before grandchildren).
    
    My kids called their paternal grandparents Grandma and Grandpa.  Maternal grandparents were Ma and Papa.
    
    My Grandchildren call their Grandfather "Bampa" and call me "Mar" short for "Marmee" (from Little Women)
