Do many artists still commit their artwork to getting important messages across?
Art history has shown us ,that thro the ages artists have often used artwork to get messages across-ie-environmental,political etc.. Is this still the case,or have artists lost interest in portraying their views now -generally.(in respect to painting drawing, sculpting)
As an artist, painter, singer, songwriter, musician... and author-- I have to say that it is literally impossible to separate yourself from your artwork, music, or writing. You would have to be in a coma to not let your personal causes leak through, in some way, in your self expression of these art forms.
When I was more actively pursuing my painting and music, the best pieces normally come through when there is more feeling or something that you are wanting to share in your artwork with other people. This isn't to say that ALL of your work is like this, because I took a number of courses where they would have you bring in subject matters that pertained to the lesson at hand in the course (light and shadow studies, white studies to preserve watercolor paper that shines through as the "lights" in your painting, or subject matter that pertains to the lesson of the moment). There is a level of expertise where you just force yourself to train to become better and bust through your art lessons as if this were an exercise.
On the other side of this, you are more free to paint what you are most passionate about and to express yourself in ways that you may not express yourself, if you were totally "milk toast" on certain issues.
My writing has taken on some environmental concerns - that later moved into civil rights issues. I didn't know what I was first researching. I began writing about a chemtrail issue in my own neighborhood-- and then soon, this was backing into a number of research rabbit holes which I never would have guessed in a million years. I've been passionate to expose what I have found to the public. There are so many people who have questions about this environmental issue that I felt obligated to share my findings. I was very fortunate to have had the time, ability to research, and to connect the dots to help a number of people to understand more about these covert sciences which will effect the global environment.
I think it all depends on what the individual artist is passionate about. I've had the opportunity to work with the elderly and have done some of my best work drawing and painting them. I believe art is still used as a powerful voice for a group of people, or a special cause.
yes, of course there are many artworks shows the messages by the artists, But the message is to said as an incomplete one because this is a period of people expect in vision not the mission. They are in the mood of hurry Which misleads the art and its meaning.
The art is being encouraged just by the people of past period, as they wish in believe in relationships, and coming to the artists no artist can loose hope upon the art as it is turned to hobby as he just need an encouragement.
in lack of such encourage, artist may hurt but not loose their art as its a gift from the Lord. As everyone can't do such an art.

Lowbrow is an art movement that has been in the making since the 1950's. The art incorporates pop culture and tells a story about how the artists see the world. It's not about being vulgar it's about being a smart ass. Think of Mad Magazine. I wrote a hub on it and I'd like...

What does my dream mean when i commit suicide?
by Dave Harris 13 years ago
My artwork isn't really selling, what can I do to change this?I have my own website offering fine art prints of my own movie scenes, portraits and military art as well as offering a portrait commission service, but the work is very slow, any ideas?

Of course I won't but how would you react to someone who threatens to do this. Someone I know, fairly well, committed suicide this year. He had money worries and I feel really guilty that I did not take up his offer of carpentry work from a flier he put through my letterbox. I didn't know he was in...

Do you agree that suicide should be accepted as a personal choice?Everyone has the right to their own body, right? So if a person (yes, depressed for a really long time) wanted to commit suicide because he really wanted to, would that make a difference compared to someone who simply want to commit...

Original art? Photography? Framed posters? Fabric? Taxidermy? There are so many choices out there, it's fun to hear how others are decorating their walls!
