   Found two my hubs on another site. What should I do?
   
   I found two of my recipe hubs, exactly the same, may be copy, pasted, on another site. But they have given a link to my original hub at the bottom. But they have used a different photo. What should I do? Should I report it? How?

   It doesn't matter if they do have a link to your original hub, they should have asked your permission before using it. Contact the owner of the site and ask them to remove the articles immediately as they are in breach of copyright. Hope you get this sorted out as it's always a shock when you discover all your hard work has been just taken by someone else. Good luck!

      If your hub is copied and a link is given contact the person and tell him what you say here can be told to him.Every body get some thing original some times some get it some may copy's something and giving a link is good as the persons gives you Cr.

      I agree with you that I should have been notified. Moreover, if the article has been read, who will click the link after that. And they mention article source as mine, whereas the whole article is written by me.
      So disappointing! Thanks!

   Personally I don't even bother contacting the thief, I go straight to the website host and file an infringement notice (DMCA). Most thieves are not making some kind of genuine mistake, they are deliberately trying to benefit by stealing your work so there's no need to be nice about it. Your goal is to get it taken down as soon as possible!
   
   To find the host of a website go to whoishostingthis.com. Most hosts will have a DMCA copyright notice form that you can fill in on their website.
   
   Also, do check out the forums here. When there is large scale stealing, hubbers will help each other out and you can stay up to date with what's happening more easily.

   If someone liked your hub and wanted to syndicated that into his/her website and giving a source link to your website so it means that you have written a nice hub with lots of information. Don't worry about it.
   
   If he/she is linking to your original hub then there is no problem. If you thinking about the SEO concern then there is Still not any problem.

      My hub is not a source, but  the whole hub is written by me and they have copied word to word. It is a site, which is earning through Adsense and the page views which should come to me is going to them. Anyway, thanks for your reply!

   I just went through this last week with one of my reci
   pes.  For one, the recipe itself is considered "facts" in a legal sense.  There is a case law precedent that you cannot copyright facts, recipes.  However, if they have copied instructruction and description word for word, you can send them a DCMA Takedown Notice.  If they have just copied your recipe, I am afraid there isn't much you can do.  Even a published recipe book cannot copyright the ingredients list.  Hope this helps, I wrote a Hub on the DCMA Notification last week if you need more nformation on that, or a quick Google will answer your questions.

      Yes they have copied instruction, ingredients, explanation everything word to word. Even the little interesting details about the recipe, which I had written. Thanks for replying and the link. It is really helpful.

   As it is your creation, they should at least have the courtesy to reply to your queries regarding it.  So, first write to them the way you would like it to be presented and if they do not comply, ask them to remove. If they still do not comply and you found it to be copyright infringement, then file DMCA complaint with hubpages.

   Have the hub taken down Chitrangada.
   
   Because if the content is copied, then chances are that people will read the recipe directly from that site and not use the link to your hub at all..... And even if they use the link, they will consider your article as a copy of the article that they have already read and just leave your page.... Unfair in all terms..

    You'll get a "duplicate content" notice and a warning. If you don't remove the duplicate content, your hub will eventually be "unpublished." I had this problem when switching articles from another site onto HP--although I had removed them from the other site before publishing them here. HP wants the content to be original, so ... publishing the same article on HP and other sites isn't allowed.

       But don't they check, which article was published first. I got it published on  5th Jan. 2013 and the copied one is published on March 14 and Jan 16, 2013.. Then whose content is duplicate!
       HP should have some way to control this kind of theft.

       This info is highly inaccurate. It only happens in a very small number of cases where the article is copied almost immediately after publication and if you write to the HP team they'll take off the duplicate warning.

    Send a complaint to the webmaster but this is the reason why I disappeared for a long time, I was really disappointed at the dishonesty of some ... what to do? anything on the web can be stolen, though Hubpages as an entity should be able to do something about it, because our work is supposed to remain ours on this website.

       It's precisely because the work remains ours that Hubpages can't do anything about it. If we gave over copyright to HP then the work would be theirs and they would have responsibility for it.

    File a DMCA, go to the wbesite owner/publisher and write the strongest letter of complaint.
    Write to Google to get them to come up with an anti-theft software package that dates originals and then automatically deletes copies.
    Surely the experts/wiazrds/techno geeks can devise it?

    Don't worry about it...after all the is the reason why you write is so that it get read,
    What you can do is ask is add a reccommendation to the link, for example
    "For more exciting recipes and cooking tips click here(your link)"
    
    Be happy your fame as a writer is growing, if that is one of your interest.
    
    ..don't smother it fan it....
