...who don't have any 'hot babe' hubs?

Surely 100% of them can't be into publishing such hubs. Not sure what the fascination is, but without an exhaustive search it seems to be the norm.

Jaspal, Sabu Singh, Feline Prophet, Diana Charles, Shalini Kagal, Soni, Cashmire...these are only a few of the many Hubbers from India who publish on HP in the spirit of sharing what writers share.

I understand the reason for your question.  But here's something to consider...

To imply that all or most Hubbers from India (and they may be the next most numerous and important, geographically and ethnically and economically, to American, Canadian, and UK Hubbers) publish these sex galleries is a kind of slur.

Perhaps HP needs to do some demographic research to find out not only where their Hubbers are coming from, but also where their dollars are coming from.

Maybe a good question to these quality Indian Hubbers might be:  what is the fascination with publishing the "hot babe" Hubs...you might get some interesting feedback directly from them.

I've noticed a highly disproportionate amount of Indian hubbers who publish Sexy Picture hubs.

Is it kind of a slur or is it an observation?

It is my experience in witnessing that the most noticeable of the hubbers who publish Sexy Picture Hubs also do so at a prolific rate.

And that these type of hubs attract 10 times the amount traffic that the normal hub articles do. So obviously there is an audience.

However, they likely get far fewer clicks, and the clicks they do get have a very low CPC.

I do know that India is the largest audience outside of the US for visiting HubPages (this information was gleaned from Alexa and Quantcast).

There are no racial slurs intended. Merely observations.

I just need to point something else out, these are "Sexy Picture" hubs. Not "sex galleries".

To imply that they are "sex galleries" would be saying that our Indian Hubbers are using the site to publish porn.

I agree with your point of view on this Sally and regarding your question, "what is the fascination with publishing the "hot babe" Hubs?", I think these hubs should be moderated because hot babe hubs only bring out very low revenue for these hubbers plus hubpages itself. The point of view should be that these hubbers should be trained or guided or inspired or motivated to write quality content because converting the mindset of these hubbers towards self-written hubs will increase the revenue of hubpages and also of these hubbers as a whole and the stigma of hot babe hubs published by Indian hubbers if not be totally removed but can be limited to some extent.

For this, the number one thing would be to create hubs which inspire and motivate these hubbers to write quality content keeping in mind that we do not criticize them to an extent where they feel frustrated and I think Indian hubbers like Shalini, cashmere, and Jyoti Kothari including me should take steps. I will be really happy to do this at anytime I am asked to do but I need some backup.

      Talk about timing.

I posted this out of curiosity. I honestly thought to myself that I recall a couple of Indian Hubbers (whose names I couldn't remember) who, from memory, didn't do the whole Sexy Picture hubs. But dozens, if not hundreds, are all about them.

But now with the new sub-sub-sub-forum category system that got rolled out today, it encourages Sexy Picture FORUM THREADS.

I think we're about to get hit by a Sexy Picture tsunami.

I've asked in the past if we could have a forum display page which shows the latest posts for the top HubPages related sub-forums so I (and there are others) could see the discussions that relate to hubbing.

Now though, I think it's going to get worse. And make this place a lot less fun to visit.

Isn't Soni2006 from India? may be wrong.... he is a good hubber.

I actually think that its a minority that post picture hubs, its just that they post so damn many..... they must take about 10 minutes each, hence the reason why....

Isnt one person accountable for about 3000 of them? Thats like nearly 1% of all hubs..... crazy stuff.

My initial reaction would be that it is entirely possible that Indians form the second largest sub-population among Hubbers after Americans. And most post high quality Hubs.

Sally's Trove's point is well-made that HP needs to do some demographic research.

And to ST's poser of possible motivations for the "hot babe" Hubbers, who knows? The usual suspects - money, a perverted sense of power and influence, a moment in the sun ....

To each his own as long as they are not transgressing the rules. I waste no time going through these (I did once out of curiosity to be honest).

Darkside, just as in the case of blondes, men and women of every hair color and in every part of the world come in all shapes, sizes and inclinations. I for one follow a policy of live and let live. If someone is being pernicious or rude or even insensitive, one could always report him or her to the HubPages staff.

Practically all the people on HubPages that I have read or had some interaction with have been good writers, considerate and of fairly high intellectual standard.

I'd got that Darkside ... I was talking about hubbers, and trying to make the point that all of humanity - including hubbers and models (even the blonde ones you mentioned) - has all sorts of people ....

By and large, the hubbers I have encountered write well and don't post stuff that could be considered distasteful. But, one has to live in this world with everyone else. And one makes do in the best way possible.

Sorry for sounding so philosophical ... smile

Oh yes, there are many of us who don't post pictures of hot babes, Indian or otherwise!

Just a thought, perhaps all those hubs devoted to 'sexy Indian babes' are there because there's an audience for them?

    1. thranax profile image73
thranaxposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Bringing those Indian Girls to hubpages lowers the earnings of the whole site due to the amount of them. Google sees the keywords of "India" and lowers the cost of the clicks to fit that part of the world.

People from India sometimes can't even get Adsense accounts due to the fact the country has so much low value internet real-estate around the whole Web.

There are also some very good India writers out there and some of the galleys are actually planned out with models and come out great (but not in the eyes of Google).

I’m afraid I don’t quite agree with many of my fellow Indian hubbers who have posted on this thread. I used to be in advertising for many years and I’ve always found that when you’re dealing with a brand, you just cannot have mixed messages. A brand’s equity in time will always sink to its lowest common denominator – and in the process, the better quality customers (writers) will always move out and find their own level in other zones.

Many marketers fall into the trap of the live-and-let-live, one-for-many policy – I think there are enough examples in marketing history to prove it never works. Sleaze sticks and it’s always hard to wash it off.

It wasn’t until I read a favourite hubber’s hub recently -  http://hubpages.com/hub/Wow-Hal-f-A-Million-Hubs - that I realised just how high the Indian readership was! Hal might joke about it – but I was aghast! Where do these readers come from? The kind of crass, grossly overweight, ugly lumps of lard that pass off for models in these hubs are not what you see in Bollywood movies today – so maybe there’s a warped, voyeuristic, aging population out there somewhere in our cities who are logging on and salivating!

Whatever the number of views, I know I cringe each time I see those hubs and wish with all my heart I had a magic wand to go *poof* and send them to kingdom come!

This is a very valid point made by the OP Darkside. Personally i am not a big fan of those indian galleries, and i intend not becoming a fan of the hubbers who posted them either. For me personally i wind up in Hubpages, this place means more to me than just posting picture galleries. Put in a lot of time and wrote what i am passionate about food and travelling being my forte. Tantrum thanks for the mention, love ya for that.

When someone is posting just pictures and not writing an article or anything that means he is lazy and wants to just create a traffic for himself/herself.It is quite disturbing that these pictures prop up on HP for the sole intention of generating revenue and nothing much. The person posting only pictures is headless. And we are fools that we go to these pages and generate traffic for them.Once thier revenue starts increasing we unintentionally  encourage them  to post more pictures .So if we dont want them then just ignore them and dont give much importance to such matter.

It is a known fact that huge percentage of net traffic is generating porn traffic.Still there is HP hail and hearty.Though it is a good thought mentioned by darkside.Well you can not deny the fact there are more sexy hubs coming up with only pictures. We have to accept the fact that they are there and leave them alone.

One question remains...who is the smart one in all this?
Is the so called hubber, who plops half a dozen pics into the capsules and includes 6.5 words and gets these hubs done in under 15 minute, not smarter then the hubber who puts in hours and hours of time putting together informative great hubs?
However its not just these crap picture hubs that annoy me to no end it's also the ones that are obviously translated be a computer program and make absolutely no sense. Sorry if I'm stepping on anyone's toes here but...

To each his own I say.  I could care less what people post, but there actually are several Indian hubbers that are against the gallery portraits.  Stooge and Jyoti are both Indian, and they were more upset about the picture hubs than many of us other hubbers.  Personally I could care less because I am an introvert and do not go around ranking people's hubs.  Just prefer to spend time on my own.
