Why do blood and plasma centers disqualify donors for too many tattoos?
Why do blood and plasma centers disqualify donors for too many tattoos? Many donation centers limit donors to three tattoos.
Tattoos have been linked to Hepatitis. Some tattoo artists have been less than tidy in cleansing their equipment between sessions. Fortunately, nowadays, this has gotten better.
Yes, but to me this makes no sense. A large tattoo on one person could be completed by multiple artists increasing the risk, and a person with ten tattoos may stick to the same artist with the right equipment reducing the risk. It really is 50/50.
If you got a tattoo in a state licensed facility and it is healed, then you may donate in Texas. It is not an exclusion.
If you received a tattoo from an unlicensed tattoo place, then there is usually a one year exclusion, but this may vary from state to state.
The limit of three tattoos is up to the medical director of the blood bank where you want to donate. You can ask for a review and you may get an ok from the medical director of that blood bank, but be prepared to list all the tattoo shops where every tatt came from.
Hope this helps.
I think the health department must verify that all ink is sterile as well as all the equipment is sterile. Once that is done, and the tattoo artist is licensed and trained in sterile procedures, the shop should get an ok from the health dept.
Here in Minnesota they do not ask donors if they received their tattoo by a licensed artist. Most of them have a tattoo limit that can't be exceeded according to an MPR report. This is such a fascinating topic to me. Thanks for your excellent answer.
I think because of the needle use for tattoos the more you have the more you could of had a chance to get hiv or other viruses that can be transferred through needles
So that Hepatitis and Aids are not transmitted from one person to another
Yes, but some centers allow people with three tattoos, and no more than that. A person with three tattoos could have had them completed by people on the street, whereas somebody with 4+ tats could be professional. The limit is not sensical.
Because more than three shows a type of addiction to the tattoos, therefore the person could be addicted to drugs and share needles (that's the mindset:caution)
Yes it is. So? That's the way they do things, and how they get statistics, or didn't you know that?
You just keep on with trends and labels and, and I will enjoy a life where each individual is based on their own merits.
I'm just telling you why they do it that way I'm not stereotyping
I make no judgement of anyone You're just wanting to argue Goodbye

Fellow tattooed friends: Do your tattoo's itch or become raised at times? I'm talking to those that have had a tattoo for years, not fresh ink. All of my tattoo's itch or become raised, mainly the outlines, I was wondering if anyone has the same issue. Everything I read online is referencing the...

Should anyone who checked the boxes to get through his education using Affirmative Action. Even be considered qualified for any public office? Especially the Presidency? I say, no. They are not in the least bit qualified for the job and should not even be considered.

I had no idea that the U.S. didn't allow people with HIV to come into the country. Obama just lifted that ban.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091030/ap_ … obama_aids

I still get stares from people due to my ink. I have been under the tattoo gun 22 times. As the years pass I have noticed that more often than not the people staring comment on my ink in a positive way. Your thoughts?
