You can ask God anything.  Whether or not you get an answer would,of course, depend on you, not least of which would be to believe you're actually being answered.

True, but I'm wondering what specifically you would ask.

Which god would I be asking? There are about 3,00 - 8,000 gods that supposedly rule over the Earth.

      Your choice.

I would ask different gods for different things. The Rain god is for rain (oh, rain is the result of evaporation and condensation, not gods). I could ask Thor to eat crackers in my bed :-) that would be fun.

I would not ask...I'd just say: Thanks -- I enjoyed the trees, the beach, my woman, my life, the warm sun, my kids, my family, books... a loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou...

All "gods" represent the same God who appears in different names and forms according to the culture, time and circumstances.
This is clearly expressed in advanced highly evolved spiritual and historical theory.
Those who can't accept this idea, particularly atheists who like to promote obfuscation and who agree with narrow extreme fundamentalists, are being plain ignorant.

And the Christian god is the same as the Muslim god, right?

Austinstar - yes. Both Christianity and Islam have about the same amount of bloodshed in their histories,

Yoleen - Its the same EXACT god! They are both praying to Yahweh - the god of Abraham. Islam accepted Jesus as a prophet, while Christians turned him into the messiah (both Jesus' are the same man). But they each THINK their god is better? Why? ???

It is based on the age-old. competition between Abraham's two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Not that it matters, since neither one prevented the Holocaust.

And the fact that the god of Abraham doesn't even exist.

As I said , atheists who promote obfuscation and low IQ right wing fundamentalists have one thing in common: religious intolerance.
      God is love.

Opinions aside, none of this really answers the question.

I would be my selfish old-self and quite simply ask for forgiveness of myself and my loved ones.
