Mark Twain, the infamous author said for travel in his book 'The Innocents Abroad/Roughing It (1869):

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

Why stay at home? You've seen it, as great as it may be. You've met everyone there that you care to know. But traveling opens you up to new experiences, new cultures, and new people. It's fun and exciting and it shows you cool things you might never have seen before. I lived in Maine most of my life and I love Maine, but when I went to Boston I could see buskers everywhere. In Washington, D.C., I saw the memorials lit up at night and saw my first hippo in the zoo. In Hawaii I explored caves near a hiking trail and looked at coral that was thousands of years old. In Florida I went to Disney World where I saw the Festival of the Lion King, visited Pandora, and talked with a lot of princesses and the stepsisters. Not all traveling is grounded in reality.

Staying at home is "safe" but you miss out on so many great experiences if you do. For all you know, your dream job or new favorite food or best friend is on the other side of the world, waiting to be discovered.

Everyone should travel the world. It will take me awhie, but i will do it. It opens ones eyes. You learnm that people aren't really much different then we are in north america. People over all are basically the same different types of personalities just living in different places under different circumstance. It's better then any history class or lesson. Your mind and view of the rest of the world will never be the same. The media has less effect on people who travel and know by experience whats real.
