   Is there any way to block a certain person from commenting on your articles?
   
   There is a person who literally attacks almost all of my articles in a certain category. He picks out a keyword and responds about something that is not even the focus of the article. His comments are longer than my articles.  In fact, they are long enough for him to have written his own article instead of negatively commenting on what I wrote. It could be overlooked if it happened once, but this is an ongoing occurrence. It has become a form of bullying.

   I don't think there's a way to block an individual. Instead, you can edit your comment capsule and check the box that says comments must be approved before they appear. That way you can delete objectionable comments before they show on your hub.

      Thanks, Ronald, that's what I do. I deny the comments them, but the person doesn't know that and continues to comment negatively and refute what I write.  In fact, the person has criticized me for asking this question.

      Margaret...FYI. a person surely does know if & when we deny or delete a comment For 1 thing, they see it's not on Ur site. Also, in their activity thread, it states the comment was "unapproved."  They NEED 2 know what a nuisance they R!

   No, you can not block someone on Hubpages dot come or the Hubpages network sites. But you can absolutely send a message to the team@hubpages.com and tell them that you feel this one particular person is harassing you.
   
   If I felt someone was bothering me, I'd do exactly what I suggested. I've done it before.
   
   I used to be drunk all the time and angry, and post very shitty comments here on things I didn't like. Well, it happens. Posting about it here isn't going to do anything. You gotta talk to the team, brocephus.

      Sounds like the individual is just craving your attention. Don't give it to them. Keep deleting.
      
      Hubpages staff will respond when you tell them you feel harassed. I know this for certain, I've been on both sides of it. The person can be removed.

      Margaret, please keep in mind that you must send an email with the content of his bullying. Or just don't delete the comment until HP has a chance to view the comment. In short, just send them the link. HP needs proof.

   Hello, Margaret....I happened to see your Question & even though we have never met, I stopped by your site to see your collection of articles.  I had someone in mind as the person who repeatedly & boldly annoys you....
   After realizing the genre that dominates your writing, I have little doubt as to whom this person is.....and if I'm correct, let me tell you something that might make you take his harassment a bit less personally.
   The person I feel strongly is your stalker, uses this sort of disturbing & abusive behavior with just about anyone who writes Religion-related articles.  They too, get totally aggravated  by his nonsense and ultimately wind up deleting his ridiculous, insulting comments and reporting him to HP Team. 
   The problem arises that if this troll is not signed on as a member, there's little the Team can do.  Unfortunately, you will just have to continue moderating your own comments and deleting them until he finally tires of being ignored & realizes you're not playing his game.

      Paula, thanks for the encouragement. He is a hubber. I deleted his comments and have reported him. He even tried to harass me for asking the question here. I had to delete that comment also.

      Good for you.  and Amen....hope you've seen the last of him.  Some people just live to be angry and try to pull others down with them.  It's our job to rise above.  I've had to go head to head a few times.  It's tiring, Bless you.

   I can totally sympathize with your plight.  I had someone attack many of my articles with a very anti-Semite approach and a "know-it-all" attitude on top of things.  I attempted to deflect the comments, but they kept coming until I just gave up and deleted them all and reported the offender to HP.  It seemed to work in the short-run, however from time to time, the same person tries to jump on a bunch of my hubs with inflammatory commentary from time to time.
   
   I am normally a person who leaves every comment up as I enjoy a spirited debate, but this person get's deleted every time.  I don't even bother reading them anymore as they always were about trying to start a vicious fight.

      Thanks, Ralph, for your comments. I let the situation go on for a long time, but then I reported it to HP.
