   President Donald Trump's approval rating has increased dramatically since he was elected in 2016, according to analysis from The New York Times...Millions of Americans who did not like the president in 2016 now say they do," the Times' Nate Cohn writes.       Well just goes to show you after all the looney lies and name calling the Democrats have waged against Trump for years now it has no effect whatsoever other than to demonstrate they have nothing to offer that voters are interested in and their gig is up. They have cried wolf on Trump so many times in so many ways that if something legitimately threatening to his candidacy came up no one (but their useful idiots) would believe it! Trump has them over a barrel and all he had to do was be Trump! They did the rest to themselves showing America what they, the Democrats and the media, are really about and that has nothing to do with keeping America great!

      NewsMax is owned by a close personal friend of Trump and regularly publishes pro-Trump articles. The NewsMax article spins a piece by a NYT conservative writer.
      
      Trump's actual approval rating is unchanged at this time from when he first arrived in office.
      
      His polls depend on a 90%+ approval by Republicans. He has an approval only in the 30s among independents. He needs them to win re-election.

      When the recession hits in the next 6-12 months (according to experts), Trump's low approval and high disapproval rating will get quite a bit worse.

         Promisem,  You and I have both worked for newspapers so we both know how syndication works.  This is not an article written by Newsmax, it is an article written by the New York Times.  One of the larges newspaper syndication sources in the United States.

            Mike, the NewsMax article was written by Theodore Bunker of NewsMax and not by Nate Cohn of NYT.
            
            My bigger point is that Trump is relying on a high approval rating from only Republicans when he really needs to boost his support from independents.

         But that is not what Mike is pointing out.
         
         What he is saying is that only 34% of Americans thought favorably of Trump in 2016.
         
         Today 44% think favorably of him.  That number is rising.

            Ken, I don't think it makes sense to compare Trump's approval rating on some random dates when Obama was still in office with Trump's rating as President. It's apples and oranges.
            
            Besides, Republicans were split among other Republican candidates in 2016. Trump has simply gained some support by Republicans and not by independents.

      Here is another prediction.
      Not only Trump will win in 2020, he will be ranked higher than president Obama by historians when all is said and done.
      Clinton was the first “black President”...
      Obama was the real first Black president...
      Trump will be known for the President who actually helped black improve their condition...with jobs, and higher wages and getting out of prison and getting off welfare...
