Misbah, thank you for writing such a well-organized, well-presented article on this disease. Unfortunately, it is misunderstood and (too often) the punchline for rude and thoughtless jokes. OCD is no laughing matter; I hope your writing helps shed some light on this problem.

Linda, thank you so much for such a lovely comment. Yes, OCD is a serious disorder, and unfortunately, very few people understand this. I hope this article help people to understand how OCD patients truly feel. Their need for verification may upset others, but they are always in a difficult situation. Rude jokes can cause these people to develop inferiority complex, which can worsen the situation. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Take care and keep smiling.
Blessings and love, as always. smile

It would be a great burden to be afflicted with serious OCD.  Thanks for the explanation, Misbah.  It is good to know that there are therapies, but it sounds like it is difficult to overcome even with therapy.   Thanks to John for highlighting this article.

Peggy, thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful comment. Yes, it is a serious illness that requires treatment and time, but it is curable. I believe that if people start cooperating with these patients, they will recover more quickly and in a positive way, but then I also believe that no one can help us more than we can help ourselves.
      Much Gratitude, dear friend.

      Many blessings and love! smile
