Gianella Labrador has written a good response to Brenda’s word prompt “Nothing.”

    Gianella...
    Congratulations on your 60th poem!

Your "Poem 60: Nothing to Find in Here! Keep Searching" really hits home with me.

I know that feeling of wanting to just tell others I'm fine...it's nothing.

It's hard for others to understand how we can still feel exhausted after a good night's sleep, but there are times that just getting out of bed is a major hurdle.

It's sad to think one has no interest & feels nothing.
On those days I think despair takes over or alot of pretending when others are close.

You point out how scary it seems when one's body doesn't want to function normally.

Who knows....maybe others are the ones who don't work normally.   Maybe we are doing exactly what were meant to do.

That feeling of telling others "It's nothing" often becomes so routine to those of us who are ill.

But I love the encouragement you give by saying once we give life meaning ...it changes to Something.

It creates a spark that changes those Nothing Days.

    Great work on this one!

It's hard for others to understand how one feels when illness tajes over his body, but your words have painted us a great picture of what it feels like when we say...
    It's nothing.

I'll post a link in the word prompt article.

      Thank you Brenda!

My limbs don't really work as much as they should lately due to some cramps and numbing. Sometimes I can barely feel my other leg. I guess it is part of the condition.

In actuallity, when a person tells you its nothing, there really is something and it could mean anything.

      Just how ironic.

I often hear it from fellow women I just don't know how true it could be. big_smile

      Stay blessed Brenda!

I really liked this poem. Relating to all the ups and downs that so many people feel as their body doesn't want them to do everyday things that others take for granted. Aging with mobility issues is a challenge for me. Doing nothing makes it worse.

The advice at the end of your article is great, Gianella. I hope that researchers make some significant discoveries related to your illness very soon and that you receive help in the near future.

Thank you Linda! There have been studies now working on a certain vaccine I think that will help prevent acquiring the virus that's related with MS. I'm sure there'll be cure and some ways to help everyone out there with the same condition as mine soon.

Glad you liked the advices at the end.

      Regards.

A good submission for the word prompt "nothing". It is fascinating, Gianella, going through the twists played by you with that word nothing. I enjoyed it a lot. You did such a wonderful job even though you are saying that you do nothing! I hope you the best.

Thanks, John, for sharing this article.

“It’s nothing.” There’s got to be something right? But it’s really nothing.

These lines are both funny and serious because they conjure up the mixture of emotions we feel when we experience them. I admire the depth of feeling you good poets can express in such few words, and sometime so casually. Good read! Thanks for sharing.

I guess most women are guilty about this; saying 'nothing' when there really is something.

Just like if your guy asks you what do you want? then you say 'nothing'. But deep inside there is something on your mind for days, and you just can't tell.

        Thank you Brenda. Sending hugs.

Yes it has a double meaning. It's like being sarcastic but somewhat serious at the same time. Thank you Ms Dora. Glad you like it. Stay blessed.
