Peggy has created an interesting article about an attraction in her area, as always. The park sounds and looks like a very enjoyable place to explore. I loved looking at Peggy's photos. I also love the fact that the park that she describes contains observation bird blinds. There's a multi-use park near my home where they would be a wonderful addition, especially by the lake in the park.

Thank you for sharing the article, Chitrangada.

Thank you Chitrangada for sharing the information about the Paul D. Rushing park.  I think that the bird watching opportunities are almost endless depending upon the timing of visits there.  Others go there for the sports facilities, dog park, etc.  I am pleased that you enjoyed learning about it.

    Peggy...
    What a wonderful park.

It seems to have something for everyone.

One can walk his dog, play with the grandkids and bird watch all at once.

Not to mention the photography opportunities and simply just relaxing.

    Loved the pictures.

Here's to a Happy New Year.

It's a great way to keep a bit of that prairie land alive...
But I still don't wish to see an alligator up that close.

Precincts around here change alot too.

    Hi Rosina,

It is fun to show locales to other people who might otherwise never get a chance to visit these places.  For others who live closer, it might provide information about what to see and do there.  It is always fun showing what we have by way of outdoor entertainment in our part of the country.  Thanks for reading about it and commenting.

    Hi Linda,

Quite a few of our parks offer bird blinds as many different varieties of birds migrate through this area.  It is also great to view the commonly found birds that reside here year-round.  Thanks for reading and leaving your comment here.

    Hi Brenda,

Thanks for the new year wishes.  I hope yours keeps improving after the rough year you had last year.  Also happy to show you the amenities in the Paul D. Rushing park.  It offers much to many people!

    Hi Brenda,

We did not see any alligators in that park although it is possible, and thus, the warning.  We have seen alligators in other parks that have water access.  Usually there are warning signs to make people aware of the possibility.  They can also move over land between water sources and occasionally show up in neighborhoods.  That always makes the news!  Alligator wrestlers are called in to capture and relocate them in those cases.
