But because you are as I am very controlled and exceptionally polite, end up just thinking, well whatever you think.
    Let me know.

No, it is suposed to be civil discussion, it usuly turns away from that. People just have to get personal. But its just opinions. No harm, unless it gets personal, then yes by all means, tell them.

just ignore them, just like Ms. helen said, there are more things which everyone of us need to deal with than the annoying and nonsense circular arguments at times, i dont know why people also want to annoy others and use tactics like that

It's not real life here in the forums, so anything I read that I think is a load of bull I just ignore as it has no place in my thoughts. There are so many Drama Queens in the forums that I think the name should be changed and we should have an actual Drama Queen section. Maybe I should have been born a man but I just don't get how some people get so upset. I love joining in, but also know when to back off as I have much more important issues going on in real life to worry about trivial things on here.

dejajolieposted 14 years agoin reply to this

You had me up to "maybe I should have been born a man" Have you read some of the forums written by men that are just as whiny and dramatic as the women?  I think people get caught up in their emotions and instead of just having a discussion are actually trying to "persuade" others to think like they do. It's really trivial and ego-maniacal. I just remove my emotions from it all and say "Whatever".

  4. Helen Cater profile image60
    Helen Caterposted 14 years ago

I think sometimes certain people pretend to take it serious for the shear enjoyment of annoying others. Now I don't mind reading these threads as Soap Opera land has become really boring of late .

I don't ever feel like telling people off, but I'd really like to call out a few of the drama king & queens, who I think just want a boat load of attention, the whole "I'm leaving hubpages drama" and the "please don't go" attention they get is, I imagine, a bit of an ego boost for them.

Sometimes I just want to say - take a look outside, you are living in the real world, get over it, get on with it & do what you have to do. Quit asking a group of people on the internet if you missed me or will you miss me when I'm gone - I'm sure there is a song already written with these words smile

The exception to this is people who really DO need our support & congrats in their life events - new babies, new loves, marriage, reaching a hub milestone, etc..and the support one needs in a time of sickness, divorce, etc.

So watch who you insult or don't insult anyone, but if you feel the need to insult someone, feel free to insult me I have been insulted by experts, There has never been an expert insult me on Hubpages. That so sweet of you. Bless your heart!  My problem is I'm into politics. I take it very seriously because it has a direct affect on my life. On the political forum right now there is a topic concerning the rights of gay people. I'm a gay man. I cant let some of the outrageous comments I hear go unchallenged. Some things you have to take seriously. I cant say "Whatever if someone is saying I dont have or deserve the same rights as everybody else. Sorry about the drama. Sometimes it's necessary.

Jewelsposted 14 years agoin reply to this

The opposite, I believe I may have publicly humiliated the other person, but after 9 months of reading this person telling porky pies it had to be done.  I was initially as tactful as I could be, then he went for my jugular, and I gave it back to him.  I was not banned because of the way I did it.  It was quite intense for awhile but I believe other forum regulars were pleased it was happening too.  Nonetheless I don't use the forums for a place to bash other people.  But sometimes...........things get heated.

I don't take much of anything on here seriously (unless it's something that ought to be taken seriously, like HubPages announcements, of course).  I like debate or silliness - doesn't matter.  I admit to getting a giant kick out of the occasional soap opera on here.   lol

I have trouble saying nothing when someone writes one of those "anti-women" posts.  I'm not one to "tell off" with name-calling, though.

mandybeau1, some of your most memorable threads were in the "how do we if a Hubber is dead" (or insane or whatever) "series".  Those kicked around for ages.   lol
