Songs with Poor Grammar

   Do you have some songs that, for you, are like nails on a chalkboard when you hear them because the lyrics use bad grammar?
   
   These aren't the most popular songs in the world, but here's some that irk the heck out of me:
   
   Air Supply's "Two LESS Lonely People in the World"   
   
   Phantom of the Opera's deleted scene/song, "No one would listen" ("No one but HER heard as the outcast hears...."      (This one I detected on a YouTube video, so I couldn't resist commenting - to which the person responded, "WTF".      I couldn't help myself.  .  )
   
   The Beatles and the Brooklyn Bridge both (in songs with a guy singing to a girl) used, "If he loves you more than ME"   
   
   Diana Ross is guilty of any number of them, including "ain't" in a lot of them; and including, "for you and I" (in "If We Hold On Together").

      I try not to let these things get to me, but - boy - does bad grammar ever ruin an otherwise decent song for me.  I really don't get the Phantom of the Opera one, which was done in - like - 2004 by people who aren't exactly fly-by-night music people (Andrew Lloyd Webber and company).  Of all the people involved in recording that song, didn't anyone notice?

   I honestly don't care when it comes to songs.  I find it funny that so many people have no clue there is anything grammatically wrong with the songs.  (I am more bothered by people with 90 plus hub scores writing hubs that are full of errors.  People should have their scores lowered if they truly cannot write.)

   it's called slang....bad grammar and all the songs sell, elvis presley's hound-dog song sold millions.what i do care about is if someone can speak or write properly. and yes i am knowingly using lower case letters.

   heh...  the one that bugs me the most is paul mccartney/guns 'n' roses in "live and let die":
   
   "... world in which we live in"
   
   (yeah, i know, the extra world fits the tune better)
   
   
   
   bryan adams' "run to you":
   
   "... ever found out about you and i"
   
   (sure, and this excuse is to make it rhyme with the previous line)
   
   
   
   another one that really grates on me is the whole song of alanis
   morrissette's "ironic" -- there're no actual examples of irony...
   
   
   i can understand about slang and artistic license, but when people don't even realize that it's not proper grammar, it makes me cringe at the example they are giving....

      Thank you!  It's funny how people here on hubpages don't even realize that there is a difference between SLANG and BAD GRAMMAR.  They are not the same!
      
      There is the concept of taking artistic license and the concept of the so-called artist just being ignorant. 
      As far as rap goes, being ignorant and not being able to properly speak English are different than using slang.  (Don't get me started on Ebonics either!  I have no time to argue with idiots over that one, know what I mean?)

    I notice poor grammar, but I don't let it get to me in songs.  Just don't say these things out loud to me, unless you want to be corrected :0)
    
    This little gem comes from a classic Backstreet Boys song, "Does his gifts come from the heart?"

    maybe...  but hey, we all have our own musical tastes, right?   just because i notice (and cringe at) the grammatical mistakes in songs doesn't mean i don't have them on my playlist(s)...   i'm a big james bond fan, so i cringe at "live and let die" whenever i watch the movie, too...
