there is no reason to label everyone, older women have been attracted to younger men since long before Demi Moore. lol

sometimes when you see these women portrayed, it seems almost like a desperate attempt to grab onto youth.  no one should need validation from someone else to be who they are. my thoughts...

the terms seems derogatory to me, like the woman is a predator, someone who is trying to get their claws in you...

I think it means experience, we are more knowledgeable in more ways than one. We are mature and nurturing.

You are a 'COUGAR' only if you are 40 and over and dealing with a man not to exceed 10-15 years your junior. You become a 'PREDATOR' dealing with any thing 16 years your junior.

      MY OPINION!!!

I was just answering the question as I saw it as posted. I would say alot of men do see this as a good thing, but more mature men may not. It depends on the person. personally....I would prefer someone close to my own age. More in common that way.

Well, I wouldn't be too sure about the rich part unless you meant in knowledge. LOL

To be more serious...I think of a woman who is much older than the male companion. There are men and women who prefer companionship that is either a lot older or younger than themselves for their own reasons.

It is fitting of whom it is applied. I have loved thm in my former days of, er, um, wolf days.

Perhaps it was originally derogatory remark, but I think it's now far more acceptable on the whole. It's a kind of red flag filled with seduction and suspense. Therefore, pretty alluring, don't you think?

I think cougars are the new "sirens" of classical literature.

Aren't cougars supposed to be the term for hot older women who are attracted to younger men and whom men find attractive. Like Demi Moore?

Well maybe not kept in a cage, but perhaps tied up and blindfolded could be fun, but be prepared for when the tables are turned! LOL!

The term "cougar" was originally applied to attractive and self-assured older women to distinguish them from "kittens."

Of course, in the mouths of chauvinists, either term is dehumanizing.

I'm in a relationship with an older man and I am nearing 40. He calls me a cougar, and even though I am no longer dating younger men, I find it amusing! Cougars should be recognized for what they are: "older" women knowing what they want and going for it; especially younger men.

Funny how women get a cool name when they want to sleep with younger guys but guys get the glorious term of "pedophile."
