Please do not tell me he became president that is a given.  What is the best legislation that he introduced?  Which of his senate votes was the most responsible?  Besides going to several colleges and earning multiple degrees (a very intelligent and educated man). What is his biggest accomplishment? Up to this point in history what will he be most remembered for?

I'll remember him for his work in destroying the freedom of American citizens and for moving this country closer to a socialist state and for his trashing of the constitution given the irony of his background ans a constitutional law professor!

I believe the Bush era with his patriot act and DHS started the ball rolling to remove Americans rights.  The Department of Homeland Security spends most of its attention watching Americans. Obama has definitely supported the Bush initiatives when it comes to monitoring Americans.

Agreed. As to the last sentence, I haven't been paying much attention to you guys this year, but I haven't heard much about him repealing any of the laws Bush/Cheney installed.

They didn't install any laws, Congress did!

True. I am assuming that most of them were in place before 2006, though, right? So then we can assume it was the Republicans, on balance... though I can imagine that many Republican representatives were not on board with some of those measures, to be sure.

I don't know; here in Canada it is rare for a party member to vote against their own leadership -- but maybe that's not true elsewhere.

The irony is that his greatest achievement was as a "community organizer", especially when you remember that most of his "community activity" in the past was organizing voter-drives.

In other words, he would never have won if he had not organized huge campaigns to get people out to vote who don't normally do so. He also used the Internet to great effect.

I'm making no value judgment about him, his government, or anything like that. I just think that, if you want to win an election, you need to get people to the voting booth -- he achieved that, and then some.

I would not consider a 52% majority any kind of landslide.  He squeaked by against the hapless and non-personality of John McCain.

Most democratic systems are pretty bad on this score. In Britain and Canada you can theoretically form the government with only 30 or 40 percent of the popular vote... It happens a lot. That is not rule by the majority -- and neither is 52 percent (I mean, it is technically, but...): it is still roughly hald-and-half, so half of you will always be pissed off.

As to your point, Obama wouldn't have won at *all* presumably if he hadn't got all those habitual non-registered voters to register.

He managed to fool about 55 million people that he was a moderate, but then again most that voted for him aren't too bright!

AdsenseStrategies Have you heard of the North American Union soon enough the US Canada and Mexico are to be one entity with one currency.  The Amero it just has to be done in increments.  This has already been agreed upon during the Bush Empire.

Yes, and it is no mere conspiracy theory. We'll see what comes of that. There is essentially zero public debate (or awareness) about it here.

I'd say the "Beer Summit" was the only thing he's done that could be even REMOTELY considered beneficial (in the loosest sense of the word).

My favorite Obama moment was in the immediate hours after the tragic Ft Hood shooting, when he went on air and staunchly warned against "jumping to any conclusions about the shooter being an Islamic terrorist before all the facts are known," when that's EXACTLY what HE did with the events precipitating the Beer Summit. "Hi pot, I'm kettle. You're black."

Yet still no comment from the White House concerning the three court martialed Navy Seals.  Imagine catching the most wanted terrorist in Iraq and being court martialed because he had a fat lip.

All successful politicians find the middle.  Evidence of finding the middle includes causing fringe elements of both sides to wail and moan.

            Obama has found the middle.
