Has someone that you have never met before come along and helped you out ever?
There have been some times in my life when I thought I had completely lost all hope for humanity. I don't mean to sound dramatic, but sometimes what few things you think you know about the world, and the people in it is enough to make a person feel overwhelmed with negativity.
I have been fortunate in that I have had strangers do simple things, that they may not have even realized, to brighten my my views and keep me from giving up on people all together.
I have had quite a few wonderful gifts from random strangers. I have been given kind words, uplifting smiles, encouragement, knowledge and enlightenment, books, poems, photography, time, a stranger sang me a song once, and I have been given money by random strangers as well.
the Universe/God really does work according to certain laws that are not easily recognized or easy to figure out sometimes
I had a gift of 17,000 dollars one time to pay for my son's surgery...a real blessing...I prayed for a miracle and got it.
A desert local pulled me to safety during the '91 Gulf War after being wounded.
Yes, and I hubbed it. It's not the first time. Happens often for me. I'm lucky.
Yes. A very kind older woman and I wish I knew her address, she is someone I would like to visit today and help her in return. She must have been 80.
I remember years ago when I lived in the Atlanta area, my car broke down north of Atlanta in the middle of winter, i.e. freezing temperatures. I tried for about three hours to thumb a ride to get home without success. My teeth were chattering and my knees were knocking as I watched all the BMW's, Mercedes and all the other elitists pass me by without stopping. I said a short prayer. Two minutes later an old clunker driven by a poor African American pulled over and gave me a ride all the way home. From that moment I changed from being a racist bigot to someone who believes in civil rights for poor people. I am also happy that O'Bama's healthcare bill was recently passed. Also from that experience I began to look at Socialism in a new light. It is essentially a redistribution of wealth, by virtue of raising taxes on the wealthiest americans, and lowering taxes on the middle class. I t seems more attractive than capitalism which produces and encourages greed and monopolies. Thank you!
Yes.
The time that really stand out to me was when I rolled my van. The kids and I crawled out to be met by half a dozen men who had stopped to help. They called the police for me, and then loaned me a phone to call my husband with. A lady also stopped. She had room in her vehicle for me and all my boys, so she stayed there with us, on the side of the road until all the paper work was taken care of and the tow truck arrived, then drove the children and I to our house, which was out of her way.
Thank you Ty.
just quickly, for the men here.

Yes. The last time a stranger helped me I was stuck in a snowbank. I was tremendiously thankful. It was on Christmas, too!
Plenty of random acts of kindness have come my way throughout my life
i think strangers help me everyday. they run my favorite television shows, keep my electricity on, provide food that i can buy, built apartments for me to live in, built roads for me to drive on, make my favorite movies, write inspiring books...
strangers help us all in little invisible ways, like the wind.
the beauty of civilization.
hubbers help me to express my opinions, so thanks to all of YOU! strangers.

Why is it easier to be totally open with strangers and not your own family?I am comfortable around strangers but hide things from family because they don't see me in the same light.

People are very closed up and keep to themselves in these times. But sometimes something may happen, or you may hear a story that compels you to give a person a hug, or someone could do it for you. How did it make you feel?

If you see a stranger walking beside the road, do you pick them up?

Have you ever helped a stranger? If so, what did you do?One sweltering day in June, as I was driving home I saw a man walking down the street with a gas can in his hand. I picked him up and took him to the gas station. He said, "bye"......and I said I am staying to give...
