Just to remind some of you who are new to youtube - videos often get yanked for violating terms, or just because the person who uploaded it decided to take it down. Which means your hubs can be affected, if you've used one that falls into either category.

You may want to check your hubs once a week to make sure the vids still work. I just had to switch one out that was no longer working. A hub with bad links is not a great hub.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll remember that when I decide to publish a hub with videos from YouTube.

Thank you, I posted a hub today with my first video from YouTube. I'll keep checking.

Thanks, Isabella. I went through my hubs and found one of the videos had been pulled, so I replaced it. As a byproduct, I found a couple of other small changes that needed to be made, so your warning was doubly useful.

That's useful, Isabella! I always have a nagging feeling about those videos. My pictures are usually ones I have created or shot, and sometimes those in the public domain. But never sure about videos
    Will check frequently, thank you.

I was wary of using videos.  I only started to because I'm writing flagship hubs.  Even before I published one of the hubs, while creating it, one of the videos I had chosen disappeared.  Now, I'll have to keep track of which hubs have videos, so I can check them.

    Great reminder Isabella.

Its also worth noting that youtube may disable embedding on a vid on the page, so even if you view it on their site, it may no longer be viewable on the page.

This sometimes seems to happen automatically about an hour after you put the vid on the page, I have no idea why, its really annoying as everyhing is working fine, until you leave the page and do something else. I would recommend you go back the very next day after publishing to make sure this hasn't happend!

I have yet to use video within a hub, but then I am new to the site!

Also, you have to click on them to make sure they work - I just had to remove one that had the front image, but when clicked was no longer available.

Wow, you'd think YouTube would take the front images down to.

The best way to know when the videos get pulled is to have your own videos on YouTube - then they should tell you when they're pulled and you can take action.
