Hi, all you hubbers! I am just lost today and having a rough weekend. Yesterday, I accidentally murdered my cell phone, which is my lifeline to my business as well as family far away. I am so distressed and it looks like it will be several days before it can be replaced. My only hope is that it will revive once it dries out. It was a freak accident of which I could not have successfully carried out if I had planned it. Needless to say, it happened and I am at my wits end! I am truly trying to see the funny side of it, though. I posted a funny blog about it on MySpace hoping to make me feel somewhat better. While I got a bit of laugh at a comment I received, I am still lost without my phone as this is my peak season in my business. I can't help but wonder if I am missing important calls as the weekend is a popular time for people who work during the week and I get a lot of calls on weekends. Oh, the stress! Anyway, if you want the full story of this tragedy, feel free to get the scoop on the blog post here

Feel free to leave me a comment of hope if you are so inclined. I am just lost. Lost, I tell ya! LOL

You can put it in a zip lock bag filled with either kitty litter, or rice for 24 hours or so and that should dry it out. If you can get a hold of silica that will work even better! Whatever you do, don't turn it on if it's wet!

I have it in there now. Am just hoping upon hopes that it works. Everything is working perfectly except the antenna function. It just keeps saying searching for network. Poor thing was still lost! I have a friend that said her daughter left hers out in the rain and it took a week for it to dry out. I just hope it hasn't fried the antenna function all together. If it isn't back by tomorrow I will have no choice but to go to the phone company and get another one. I hate that! I have had that one for over 2 years with no problems at all. When I decided to upgrade earlier this summer, I got the new phone and absolutely hated it. Couldn't seem to keep a signal anywhere! I went back and had them to swith activation back to my trusty old phone and all has been well until now! I can't believe I did that! Even though it was a freak accident, I feel awful LOL. Thanks for the tip and I'll let you know how it goes!

Thanks, Steph! I have it in the rice right now so I will check it tomorrow morning and see what happens. If it is still in a comma, I'll have to get a phone sad To make things worse, the one day I am without a phone, my Mama gets sick and couldn't reach me! I will be glad when this weekend is over and I can look forward to a better week LOL.

Thanks, Misha! I never thought I would be so dependent on the stupid thing until I needed it so much lol. I have threatened to throw it out the window many times but I would never actually do it!

Well, I have the verdict on my phone. It is time to let it go. I will have to go online and order another one so it will take a few days to replace it. The timing just really stinks because they did put Mama in the hospital today with pneumonia. I am standing by now to get a report as to how serious it is and if I need to head south. Thanks for the tips, Jimmy. Maybe if I had read that hub before it happened, it may have worked. I think it had just been too long before I tried it. I guess after all this time I was due another oe anyway but it sure could have been at a better time, for sure lol.
