I've decided to take a long break from reading or participating in the Hubpages forums.  As time goes by, nearly every day actually, I notice more and more negative, bitchy, nasty mean threads.  I am tired of reading through it, and honestly I believed that the forums were better moderated than this.  I had hoped, anyway.

I hope beyond all else that you all have a lovely time this holiday season and that your hubs get lots of views, your Adsense accounts get lots of pennies and all that.  I will check back in on the forums after a while to see if the cattiness goes away after the holidays are over.

Well, if you're still reading - have a good Christmas smile

The forums have been through a bad patch. But I think our architects would rather spend their time giving us a good publishing resource than policing the boards, and who wouldn't?

I'm sure it will settle down naturally.

I read the latest cattiness too and at the end realized how much time I just wasted.  From now on I will "click out" as fast as I "clicked on".  There is so much good stuff to read here at hubpages so don't get discouraged and don't quit if you really like what your doing.  Happy Holidays!

Sorry to see you go, Gamergirl. But if it means you get time to write more Hubs, maybe it's not a bad thing!

I must say I'm in two minds about the current outburst of cattiness.  I hate to see it, but at the same time, there was a point where I felt like I was being blamed for every nasty comment or thread on the forum.  It makes me feel a little bit vindicated to see various other people managing to be nasty without any help from me!

I do hope everybody can calm down.  Maybe everyone's just getting stressed out coming up to Christmas!  I do think it's a pity that grudges and dislikes seem to be getting carried from thread to thread, can't we all put disagreements behind us and get along?

"Vindication" and "Christmas" in the same post; that's the spirit!

Isabella, I won't pretend to understand your comment.  We had a disagreement. It's the season of goodwill so can't you forgive and forget?

Why do people always say we should be nice because its Christmas. Why shouldnt people just be nice, period.

Yes, I agree.  It's not so much that people should be nice because it's Christmas, it's the fact that it's an opportune reminder of the right way to behave.
