Well, in Singapore if I do not take a shower every day, I will definitely smell like a dead fish. It is due to the temperature and humid here is wet.
But I do know a Thai monk Luang Por Kasem who did not bath for a year and it was perfectly okay.
I noticed one woman mentioned how it might be different for women, and she is not wrong. At the same time, people in the past went weeks if not longer with out baths and I imagine most of them did just fine seeing how we are here! In addition, the Romans (and Greeks as well, I think) did not bathe with water and soap the way that we do. Instead, they coated themselves with olive oil and perfume and then scraped the oils off. I suspect is depends upon your culture and what you are used to.
What are you from France or something? Go to Europe and ride the eurorail from France into Italy. You have people who don't bathe unless there is a blue moon out. Unless you have a private coach, the general public will knock you off your feet. Thank goodness they keep the windows open.
I´m not concerned with the person. I´m concerned with the people around him!
Do you really want to find out..................
One thing's for sure: whoever does that is going to be losing alot of friends.
Oh! 'six weeks without shower' I can't even imagine that.Nobody can do that because you don't feel fresh and it's not good from the Hygienic point of view, also.
Going without a shower for three days is no big deal. I know when I was a kid we bathed once or twice a week, and me and my sisters shared the same bath water (ICK). Back in the dark ages people rarely bathed. I suppose they stunk to high heaven and maybe had irritation infection once in a while. When I get real bad depression I only bathe once a week. My normal is every other day or more.
After three days it would be great to take a shower. After six weeks - if I could still get the clothes off - I'd probably think that a shower is the best thing that was ever invented.
Depends on if you want a serious answer or a funny one..
Ofcourse people would stop meeting the filthy person after a week of his last shower.
Then comes the question of hygiene related health issues, he would have all kinds of infections springing up after 3 weeks of his last shower.
Then comes an alternate scenario, where he is not getting a shower, but is getting sponge bath in a bath-tub Ofcourse this is possible according to the wordings of your question.
Is it an urban myth that if you don't wash your hair for long enough it starts cleaning itself? If it's true then maybe the rest of your body can do the same thing? I think you would have to give it a significant trial period and you may lose a few friends in the process. I also imagine the desire to jump into the shower would grow so strong that I don't think anyone could humanly last six weeks.
If this experiment is still underway - I'd be very interested in the results!
Honestly, the sweat from your skin and dirt floating around in the air cling to your skin and start to smell like crazy. Your skin gets oily, not dry, and, really, why would you even think about it?
If you do not take a shower for over two weeks bacteria will form on to your skin time to time eventually making your skin irritated and you will grow spots and if you get a cut it will get infected quickly by the same bacteria on your body. You will feel sick more often and you can spread your flu.
just be clean and take a shower
Personaly i take a shower once-twice a week but once in two weeks would be to much. And i don`t recomend showering twise the day because you wash all of good bacteria wich protects your skin. And the six week period you`re talking about might be too much. Just don`t get used to it good luck.
Nothing happen,if person live far away from civilization where is clean air and food. Our grand-grand-grand parents did not have a shampoo or other cleaning supplies, but they did not smell or feeling bad!!!Immune system also MORE stronger!!!
NOthing happens. As i have done it two three times in my college time...lol.
You would be fired from your job and your significant other would leave you, lol.
then u will smells bad and you will become alone.nobody wants to be your friend.
hahaha.. i can't even imagine this.. but maybe i will tell him or her not to take a shower for 6 months, he or she could be a headline on a newspaper in his or her city.. LOL
Coming from personal experience, your skin will get really greasy almost to the point of being coated in oil which feels like a crawling sensation all over your body, the dandruff in your hair will be nearly overwhelming, and let's not talk about the smell.
Results: Social pariah for at least 3 weeks plus the time you spent unclean and that's after you've showered. Girls look at you as if you're Quasimodo and Guys will make fun of you.
Not the most fun time in my life.
Take a look at the old PBS series where people go back in time and try living like people did back then. Esp. take a look at the Iron Age series. The Brits (who were doing it) had to call off the series due to the people getting sick from bad hygiene. Then they showed you the people's first shower water running off of their bodies (knees down....no nudie scenes) and it was appalling.
Point is you get sick if you are dirty.
(The WWII episode of people living like then was very interesting....and they took baths)
I don't know what would happen, I wouldn't be able to get close enough to find out.
I would consider that person a walking germ that is vulnerable to infections, viruses and some more.
I think it is dangerous to refrain from showering for six weeks, if the person isn't cleaning himself in some way during that time. I would think infections would occur. I don't think 3 days is all that long to go without a shower.
Having been deployed into the middle of nowhere and then our personal bags having gotten lost along the way I can testfy that it sucks! The worst was not having a toothbrush or nailclippers. From that day on I carry a small nailclipper on my key ring!! We got some supplies 3 days later but we couldnt actually shower for about a week. The showering part wasn't that bad. I sponged bathed and washed my clothes by hand.
I was just thnk about this question today. How did people keep clean before they have bath tubs.Or was bathing really needed than. I think your body would be use to it.
in living in both the mountains at around 3,000 feet up and being in the pacific northwest (no humidity to speak of) it is very dry here. one gal is correct, you get oily. why people "stink"? you are toxic-period. the toxins are what smells. since i changed my diet, we raise all our meats, eat all organic and garden foods, very little grains, gluten free, dairy free, we don't stink as much anymore. we never eat fast food, etc. i bath every 2-4 days. i do not use/need anti-perspirant or deoderant now for over 10 years.
twice in my life i have both met and come very close to someone who seriously didn't bath, and the odor was horrific offensive. i almost gagged. one fella was a business associate from canada (he was french actually) and the other person was from the mid-east. perhaps some cultures differ than ours in north america. i know that daily bathing with harsh soaps most use in chlorinated water that has been recylced too many times (if you live in LA, NYC, san fran, etc) you sadly have water in much need of improvement. (we had it scientifically tested after a week in LA) i cannot publish the results, but you might bath less if you knew what we do. lastly, after the 3rd or 4th day, that shower sure does feel good! Dr. Mike
ew,probably get a skin disease. Would they change their clothing?
No one will come near him/her but it is uncomfortable even to that person.
First, no one can go near the person due to the stench (sweat and dirt). Secondly, the person would feel very uncomfortable, will probably starts to itch every where particularly the scalp. The face would be oily and sticky.
Generally, you'll smell bad. If they smell something foul on you, they'll tend to react poorly towards you.
I personally cannot stand to go two days without a shower, yet alone 6 weeks. I think that going six weeks would be horrible for the individual doing it and everyone that has to come into contact with that individual during those six weeks. There is however a way around your question, even if you didn't shower for six weeks what if you used baby wipes to wipe down your body, leave in/dry shampoo for your hair, and some type of acne cleanser wipe for your face? Would it then be possible to go for 6 weeks without a shower?
six weeks..?...why not make it months..go for a world record...
beccuse such a person will not ixest.think. a person can not go without showring for a day or two what do you think with happen to them after six months!!!!!!!!!!!! they will comet suicide
P U !! Gross. YUK! There is a rain shower - a lake or a pond with a bar of soap. Wash cloth with Purell Sanitizer. Fill up a basin of warm water and sponge off the stink and grime. Six weeks is an excuse or an experiment.
I choose clean, healthy, smell nice, and feel good.
They will be asked to run for Congress and there complexion will improve.
definitely she/he stink like a pig...
or perhaps nobody will like that person.
When I used to work for USair I cleaned airplanes. It was a very dirty job and I couldn't wait to get home and take a shower. One of my co-workers would only bathe on Sundays. By the end of the week you could see all the dirt caked on his skin. I was so glad that I can't smell. By the end of the week my other co-workers wouldn't get near him.
They will have a horrible order and some bacteria might be growing down there if you are a female. Why would anyone want to do this idk...however I'm sure the people closest to this person would dread seeing them coming and smell them a mile away
Six weeeeeeeeks????????????????
Oh My God!
he will be very dirty and smelled a lot.
but nothing would happen.
Three days is not bad in many circumstances...with some 'buts'. Think of our soldiers in desert nations who must go longer than that for a shower.
But six weeks.....Wow!
You are going to start growing yucky stuff.
And nobody is going to be around to 'enjoy' it with you because they run off as
you get closer!
In your experiment are you deciphering who smells the best after six weeks? :-)
Nothing. I've done this and I was fine. I'm still fine. I took my first shower today after weeks of only bathing. Personally, I prefer baths. You can stay a while and soak in the water.
Haha! It will be an interesting experiment.
They would make their mother very unhappy because they wouldn't have clean underwear, and what would happen if they got into an accident without clean underwear?
you would smell really really bad not to mention a lot of health problems would accur!
For six weeks, I think that would absolutely disgusting. But for a few days, I don't think it would be a bother. As long as the person took care of themselves properly. Washing hands, brushing teeth, and wiping correctly. LoL
on the note of the six week topic many things can happen. on the note of the 3 day experiment not quite as much.
But a sum of it all is on the 6 week ordeal you become a smelly dirty mess. And if you have any open sores during this time you may get infection as a result.
For the short 3 day period you would start to notice some underarm odor, possible foot odor. All this will vary depending on your activity during the experiment.
If you are an athletic person. You're gonna reek. If you are a stay at home person in a controlled climate you may not notice much of a difference at all.
It will vary from subject to subject according to physical activity and enviromental climate.
That person would surely find a lot of empty spots on the bus or train, that's for sure.

Do you care if you shower with some one of the LGBT community? I'm talking about in armed forces. Honestly I have to ask because of this ''Should the U.S. Military allow men and woman to take showers together?'' I underst and how some straights may feel but at the end of the day if you showered in...
