      Thank you Kimberly.

I am so excited that this was the story they chose.  The anorexia story was difficult to write, but not quite as hard as the drinking one.  So, in my mind, this is quite an accomplishment!

I drove 3 hours with my granddaughters in the backseat yesterday...boy do I have great hub material about conversations between a two and a four year old!

Has anyone else experienced "feature creep" as a means to stay sober?

I have and it seems to be taking its toll. I need to back out of some online crap, not HubPages, but some of the others.

On one hand, this could be bad because riding season is drawing its curtains closed until March. Riding has been my meditation.

On the other hand, this will free my time up for something more important. I will get to write. You know, really write. That from the gut exploration.

There may be a thin line for me to walk in the coming months. I'm pretty sure I'll be in here a lot for support.

Lori...Feature Creep is an engineering term for piling optioned on because they look cool. Eventually they cause an overload and crash.

Seems I have done this with all these web 2.o communities and responsibilities. I am slowly backing out of some and keeping the valued ones to avoid that crash wink

It's nice to be able to get back into the forum.  Ever since Wendi arrived at Mich's house, I haven't been able to get on the computer.  Just kidding.  It's been so nice to spend all of the this time with my siblings.  I'm loving it..  Wii American Idol, Wii Rock Band - my vocals are killing.  I feel bad for the kids, though.  Not equal time on the Wii.  Oh well....

Well now that we've looked at the taxicab to be renovated, I was sitting here thinking about the multiple forms of addiction-sex, gambling, the Internet, etc.  Now I KNOW I am not addicted to sex (poor hubby), I can take it or leave it, but the Internet?  Gambling?  I think, yes.
When I go into our local casino here in Bishop, I lose control.  So does my hubby.  What we have decided to do is give ourselves a certain $ amount each week with which to play, and leave the money and cards at home.  It's a tough one.
I started using the Internet only 11 months ago-when I bought my very first computer-but it now takes up much of my time and attention...I guess it's all a matter of balance.

    1. profile image0
Wendi Mposted 14 years agoin reply to this

As long as you're not doing anything illegal, or immoral, I don't think the internet is a bad thing...just as long as you don't neglect your loved ones (that's something I always have to remind myself.)

    Good Evening.
    I hate this.

Having to bring the mood down, but I want to get high so bad I can feel it.

I have a great deal of trouble coping and I felt you needed to know why.

I miscarried twin girls this morning and I'm not sure why.   Why is the question that makes me want to get high.

I didn't even think but a good friend told me to pray, pray a lot and pray hard. And ever since it has been helping and slowly lifting the obsession to stick a needle in my arm.

As an addict the first solution is always drugs. My friend saved me from a relapse today, as did God.

Sorry about the bummer news but you were all so supportive,I didn't want to lead you to believe I was still pregnant. I thank you all for your support.  I plan on spending quite a bit of time talking to God again tonight and maybe he'll answer me as to understand why.

    God Bless
Don't know what I would do without you.
    Thank you
    Kimberly

I'm so sorry Kimberly, but trust me on this one...everything is going to be ok.

I miscarried before I conceived my last son.  I couldn't understand why or how something like that could happen to me.  I know how devastating it is, but I was also still using at the time.

Just try to stay one step ahead of where I was when it happened, and keep yourself safe.

Things will happen the way they are supposed to.

      Love, Wendi

it's a big old rollercoaster we're on and terrible things can and do happen sometimes, as you're feeling now. Fantastic things can happen too though, and it would be really great if you were around to see them.

I'm rubbish at saying the right thing, but you can get through this clean, wherever you place your trust. I'll put my trust in you.

  24. profile image0

Thank you and I really am listening and absorbing your advice.

everything happens for a reason, this I know.  At 43 and single, maybe I couldn't have hanled twins, it may have been too much.

I think this because they are going to do a hysterectomy for my health issues.  I just need to accept everything happens for a reason,we just don't always know why.

It's not worth getting friggin high and breaking my sobriety ending up in some crack house broke and dirty.  Cause if I think it through that's what would happen very quickly

    Thanks

Went to my meeting this morning.  It felt so good.  I said a little prayer for you, Kimberly.  I shared my story and got through until the very end without crying.  When I get to the last night, it always gets me.  It was good, though.  Lots of newcomers, so we all went back to our last day together.  It's funny how I can feel it like it was yesterday.  I have come a long long way, though.

Why do humans use drugs? Headaches, Heartburn, High blood pressure , And the like? Primitive people used drugs to enter the spirit worlds. Is it a search for something outside reality? The need to feel different than we do ? It starts with aspirin i think , the gateway drug.

Publishing a Hub tonight but I just hope it doesn't get flagged or pulled,I don't think it will but my gut is telling me otherwise - it's one of those Hubs you do just cause you want to, knowing there will be no score or it may even pull down your author score.  I just wanted to really do it - well, here's hoping.

Oh, and do you want to hear the weirdest thing;I just read (am reading) about the fact October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month

Isn't that weird - good site - seems to be calming me.  Anyway, just thought that was bazar

I hope you all enjoy this.  I saw it in my doctors office and had to copy it...

    Interview with God
I dreamed I had an interview with God…
“So, you would like to interview me?”  God asked
“If you have the time.” I said.
    God smiled.
    “My time is eternity.”
“What questions do you have in mind for me?”
“What surprises you the most about humankind?...”
God answered:  “That they get bored with childhood.  They rush to grow up and then long to be children again.”
“That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.”
“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”
“That they live as if they will never die, and die as if they had never lived.”…
God’s hand took mine and we were silent for a while.  And then I asked….
“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”
    God replied with a smile…
“To learn they cannot make anyone love them.  What they can do is let themselves be loved.”
“To learn that a rich person in not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”
“To learn that is only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and it takes many years to heal them.”
“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”
“To learn that there are persons who love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.”
“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”
“To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others.  But that they must forgive themselves.”
“And to learn that I am here – always”

Wow, Cheri-all the best to him and the whole family with knee replacement.  You know the raised seat helped incredibly both before and after the operation, so I guess it depends on his level of pain, but with a knee, I imagine when he sits to do his thing, he might not want to be bending that new knee so much.  I recommend one if he wants one-it's kind of embarrasing to buy, but WTF?  I didn't care when I had the first operation, so I still have the old thing...Wendi-they haven't set a date yet, but I am officially in the system, no dental work, no smoking, no OTC meds, well, you know it's nothing new, I'm just waiting to quit the DAMNED CIGARETTES!
No, I don't know what I'm waiting for, friends, I think I'm going to put it off until I have to!
